The most important medicines I am taking now are daratumumab (also known as "Darzalex") and bortezomib (also known as "Velcade"). My understanding is that these are the ones that seem to be somewhat effective in controlling the cancer right now.

Glad to see that you are fighting on and making life count. I don't know if you have gotten second opinions on the treatments. And no, I am not not suggesting "alternative" medicine. But a second opinion from a mainstream physician or health institute should be something everyone pursues, if only for peace of mind in knowing that you have gotten the best choices offered by our medical system.

As an example, my neighbor was dying from a damaged heart due to rheumatic fever that he had suffered from as a child. In his late 60s, he and his wife were told by his heart physician that there was nothing more that could be done for him and that he had a matter of weeks to live at best. His wife was telling me about this meeting and was sobbing uncontrollably. I told her that she should secure an appointment at some other doctor, independent of their health care system to see if they agreed with that doctor's diagnosis. She agreed that she should do that. The result was that the second physician told her that her husband's outlook was not as bleak as the previous doctor believed, that they could implant a new designed pace-maker that would double his current heart function and keep him alive much longer. Furthermore, the doctor wanted to evaluate my neighbor for candidacy of a heart transplant. To make a long story short, my neighbor received a heart transplant within a few months and lived for another 12 years or so until he passed away from other causes.

Don't know about world famous but my cardiac surgeon is through the Cleveland Clinic in Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. I have never had a doctors office who was as up to speed on everything. Even though I'm still having issues he calls to check on me pretty regularly and has now scheduled me for to see a second surgeon on the 24th. The next surgery they proposed will require two surgeons and be spread across two days. Unlike my primary care all of my heart medications are up to date on refills when I need them and there is never any changes without him personally calling me first. Can't honestly think of anything bad to say at all about the office.

From a private message I sent earlier today, Monday, August 16:
I am now probably going to have to have a blood transfusion once per week. The bone marrow cancer is really taking its toll, as are the chemo-therapy drugs. Met with my oncologist today.

Tomorrow (Tuesday Aug 17) i will have a blood transfusion, the third one in less than 2 weeks.

We are still waiting on the possibility that I could have something called a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy procedure, but the waiting list is very long. My oncologist is trying to keep me alive long enough so that I can have the CAR T-cell therapy.

In all this, the objective is to keep me alive a little while longer; the cancer (multiple myeloma) is incurable.

Thankfully, I'm in very little pain -- just feeling tired, especially when I walk in the sun!

Peter Hendrickson's Narcissistic Hymn To Himself

--sung to the tune of I’ve Gotta Be Me (with apologies to Walter Marks, who composed the original words & music; hit version, c. 1968, was sung by Sammy Davis, Jr.)

I know I’m right; I’ll never be wrong….
My beautiful face in this world is always so strong….
It’s all about Me…. It’s all about Me…
Oh, why can’t they see: I’m Superman….

I want to live, and also connive.
And I won't give up this dream
Of life that keeps me alive….
It’s all about Me…. It’s all about Me…
Delusion, you see, makes Me what I am….

My far-away prize, My World of Success,
I have not attained, because of My fall.
I won't knuckle down, although I'm a mess,
For now I believe, yes I believe, I deserve it all….

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be;
Cannot think about somebody else --
It’s all about Me….
It’s all about Me…. It’s all about Me…..
I could just cry: I’m living a lie!
It’s all about Me….

About Peter Eric Hendrickson, creator of the Cracking the Code tax scam:

Blowhard Pete

(sung to the tune of "Young at Heart" by Carolyn Leigh & Johnny Richards)
(imagine this as sung by Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett)

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you're Blowhard Pete.
For it's hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you're Blowhard Pete!

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes.
You can cry when your schemes fall apart at the seams.
And life gets more ex-cit-ing with each pass-ing day.
'Cause jail is either where you are, or on its way.

Don't you know that it's worth every treasure on earth
To be Blowhard Pete!
For as dumb as you are, it's much better by far
To be Blowhard Pete!

And if you should survive to a hundred and five,
Look at all you derive when you want to connive!
And here is what's so neat, you got to lie! Cheat!
'Cause you are the nar-ci-ssis-tic Blow-hard Pete!

THE WACKADOOSTER'S LAMENT
(or, "The Cracking the Code Blues,"
also known as
"Set My Peter Free")

I just thought that I could play
"Keep my pro-per-ty away
From the mean ol' tax collector".
Now I feel like a defector,
'Cause I just don't want to pay
"Frivo-penalties" today.

Oh, I thought he knew the tax,
But my Peter got the axe!
Yes, he stumbled bad in court
And his scam is on "abort."

-----(Chorus:)
-----Oh darlin', can't you see
-----That it's not all up to me.
-----Yes, I need some help from thee.
-----Oh, babe, set my Peter free!

I don't wanna write a letter,
"Cause I know this won't get better.
No, John Stossel won't behave,
And my rear end he won't save.
Oh, I'm sad because the Pete
Will be taken off the street.

When the Peter goes to jail
As incarcerated male,
I will cry and whine and wail;
I will rant and groan and rail.

-----(Chorus:)
-----Oh darlin', can't you see
-----That it's not all up to me.
-----Yes, I need some help from thee.

The Ode Of He Who Holds the Delusional Belief That Consent Is Required

'Though a prison term's scheduled for me,
I must say that I cannot agree!
If consent I withhold,
Do you think I'll be told
That the marshal will just set me free?

'Though I might have once said "I consent,"
I am sure, now, it's not what I meant!
I will bellow and wail
If they take me to jail,
And my clothes I will rip up and rent.

Oh, I suffer delusion, no doubt;
If they throw me in prison, I'll pout!
I will pull out my hair,
'Cause it just ain't no fair:
All that wailin' will not get me out!

Others know that I live in a dream
Where "consent" is my recurring theme.
So, I act like a troll
And more nonsense extol;
I just hope I don't run out of steam.

Oh, I argue: "consent is required!"--
But my argument really is tired.

Yes, it seems that I've heard
I must stress the right word.
Oh, all right; I will make that concession.

What I think I might just be inviting
Is the skill to write satire that's biting.
No one else will be bored
If my word's like a sword!
These are lessons in much better writing!

So, I'm thinkin' that I would be wise
To learn more how to just EMPHASIZE.
Is this now the right season
To give you my reason?
Well, why yes! I just might win a prize!

You may say, "He's delusional now!"
"Win a prize? Oh, come on now! Just how?"
And, I guess you'd be right;
So I'll close for the night.
As I leave, let me take a small bow.

Oh, it's hard to put feelings in rhyme,
'Cause my brain isn't working this time!
Ontologically speaking,
My neurons, they're creaking!
My perception just ain't worth a dime!

To be honest as Honest Abe Lincoln,
I must say: "What the heck was I thinkin'?"
Oh, how silly I'll feel
If that feller ain't real!
Will my head just implode? Is it shrinkin'?

Yes, I feel I've been fooled -- I've been had!
I was tricked into talkin' to Rad!
Can I live with the shame?
After all, I'm to blame!
Oh, I must be a nut, and quite mad!

Sung by those losthorizoners who eventually do become completely disillusioned among Hendrickson’s Heroes -- to the tune of You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go, by Bob Dylan:

PeterMeister, don’t get sore;
We don’t buy your trash no more.
We want all our money back -- and more!
Been shooting in the dark too long.
C-t-C ain’t right -- it’s wrong.
You’re gonna make us lonesome when you go.

Tax evasion did we love—
But now we’re giving Pete the shove!
The IRS has hit us from below.
Now we see – we've been corrected,
Right on target, re-directed,
You’re gonna make us lonesome when you go.

Pete's tax theories? -- Way off base!
Yes, we cheated – what disgrace!
Liens and levies hurt -- if you don't know!
Can't remember what we was thinkin' of.
Delusions – we have had enough.
We’re gonna make you lonesome when we go.

-----All our friends could see we’re bloomin' crazy,
-----Jibber, jabber, back and forth in rhyme,
-----Yes, Pete's logic was completely hazy,
-----He thought we’d go on forever.
-----And never recognize he's lyin’.

Situations have ended sad,
All our tax returns were bad.
Ours have been a pain and a bore.
But there's no way we can compare
All those scenes to this affair,
We’re gonna make you lonesome when we go.

-----We’re gonna make you wonder what we’re doin',
-----Stayin' far behind, without you.
-----We’re gonna make you wonder what we’re sayin',
-----We’re gonna give ourselves a good talkin' to.

We’ll see Pete, then, in Fed’ral prison!
Are we sorry? No, we isn’t!!
Pete will have to leave us now, we know.
Pete, we'll think of you in the sky above,
In the tall grass, in the ones we love,
You’re gonna make US lonesome when YOU go!

Sung by Peter's minions, to the tune of "Misery" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney:

Peter's treatin' me ba-aa-aa-ad... Mi-ser-y!

I'm the kind of guy
Who never used to cry,
But Pete is treatin' me ba-aa-aa-ad... Mi-ser-y!

Now C-t-C's a bore:
No an-swers a-ny more!
Tax cheatin' is a dra-aa-aa-ag... Mi-ser-y!

-----I'll re-mem-ber all the liens - they aren't fun!
-----Can't Pete see, he'll al-ways be, the losing one?!?

We Crack-heads all should flee,
'Cause Uncle Sam can see
The Peter Meister put us all in mi-ser-y!

‘Though he tried to put up a good fight,
It is clear Clovus ain’t seen the light.
No, he won’t learn his lesson;
It’s time for confessin’,
It’s clear that poor Clovus ain’t bright.

He can try just as hard as he might,
But ‘Cracking the Code’ just ain’t right.
To rely upon Pete
Leaves him utterly beat;
Yes, The Law has a terrible bite.

Hendricksonian pontification
Means true Logic just took a vacation!
Pete is wrong on The Law;
C-t-C? It’s a flaw,
And may lead to some incarceration!

On a tax protester named Larry W. Macdonald:

Old Macdonald owed some tax,
E-I-E-I-O!
Common sense he clearly lacks,
E-I-E-I-O!
With a penalty here,
and a penalty there--
Friv-o-lous
Pen-al-ties!
Everywhere the penalties!
Old Macdonald owed some tax,
E-I-E-I-O!

Old Macdonald’s case had cracks!
E-I-E-I-O!
From the Court he took his smacks!
E-I-E-I-O!
With a “you lose here”
And a “you lose there” --
Here a loss,
There a loss,
Findin’ out the Court is Boss!
Old Macdonald’s case had cracks!
E-I-E-I-O!

Old Macdonald -- weak on facts!
E-I-E-I-O!
Now the papers come -- in stacks!
E-I-E-I-O!
What are they?
Easy guess:
Billings from the IRS!
Old Macdonald -- weak on facts!
E-I-E-I-O!

A crackpot protester called Cotter
Flung out foolishly frivolous fodder.
Yes, the girlie called Shirley
Was overly surly;
Her tax theory was a non-starter.

Yes, it seems Shirley’s falsely conflatin’
Payin’ taxes with homage to Satan.
Her religious belief
Is now bringin’ her grief;
Payin’ taxes is something she’s hatin’.

So, she sadly must see, and concede
That, to Satan, her tribute she’ll feed.
Yes, the poor Missy Cotter
Becomes Satan’s Daughter,
And satisfies Satan’s tax need.

An impressive body of work.
