I will be traveling to Iowa for a wedding (spouse's brother) in early January. Any hotel or restaurant recommendations in Des Moines, Iowa City or Quad Cities (or points in between) appreciated. We are planning to go to Baru 66, but otherwise open.

I'm looking at you, Imalawman.

I actually just performed a same sex marriage ceremony in Davenport (Scott County) along the Mississippi last week. The Travelodge was pretty affordable accommodations which is also right smack dab in the midst of shopping and restaurants all up and down the strip there. There is also the village area of Davenport, its quite quint and cute with brick roads and historical buildings.
