ASSOCIATES OF NEW HAMPSHIRE TAX EVASION FELONS INDICTED BY GRAND JURY AND ARRESTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES

Concord, New Hampshire - Today, teams of state, county, local and federal law enforcement officials, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested four individuals on charges stemming from their association with convicted felons Edward and Elaine Brown of Plainfield, New Hampshire. The indictments were issued by a federal grand jury in Concord, New Hampshire, and made public today. The four arrests were made in different locales and were conducted without incident.

Cirino "Reno" Gonzales, 30, of Alice, Texas; Daniel Riley, 40, of Albany, New York; Jason Gerhard, 22, of Brookhaven, New York, and Robert Wolffe, 50, of Randolph, Vermont, are now in U.S. Marshals custody, and face charges that range from Accessory After the Fact (aiding and abetting) to Possession and Use of a Firearm in Relation to a Crime of Violence. The indictments allege that each of these men has helped obstruct justice in the Brown case. Officials believe that at certain times, the men participated in various efforts to assist the Browns in avoiding justice at their rural home in western New Hampshire; and conspired to impede federal agents.

U.S. Marshals conducted all four arrests in a manner consistent with this continuing operation since the Brown s sentencing five months ago. "We are acting with an abiding concern for the safety of surrounding communities, neighbors, and law enforcement officers," said U.S. Marshal for New Hampshire, Stephen Monier.

The arrest of Gonzales occurred in Alice, Texas; Riley was arrested in Cohoes, New York; Gerhard was arrested at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Wolffe was arrested in Hartford, Vermont.

The Marshals Service made clear that it is a crime to aid and abet convicted felons who are avoiding justice. "In this case, these men are alleged to have helped the Browns in their ongoing refusal to surrender to authorities," said Marshal Monier. "The Browns have engaged in a course of conduct that has led to further criminal investigations into their activity. Anyone who aids the Browns is subject to investigation, arrest, and prosecution for serious felonies, which carry very heavy prison sentences."

"This was a tax case," Monier added, "but over the last seven months, the Browns have allegedly: obstructed justice and encouraged others to assist them. Ed Brown has threatened to kill law enforcement officers and other governmental officials. So, our message to the Browns is clear: do the right thing, call us, and surrender peacefully."

The U.S. Marshals and their law enforcement partners have taken purposeful and methodical steps to convince the Browns to surrender. In June, utility access and deliveries to their property were cut off.

"The Marshals will continue to assist local authorities by exercising the authority to control access to the property. We will work with our law enforcement partners to ensure these efforts are conducted in a safe manner, and with minimal intrusion to the Plainfield community," said Marshal Monier.

It's going to be harder for Ed to find someone who'll drive in to town for a dozen eggs.

One could argue that the impotent rage began at puberty and the self-important ranting started shortly after their first words.

I want the you-tube video of Ed screaming gibberish, pumping his hands rigorously, and stomping his feet like a three year old throwing a temper tantrum. I saw a 65 year old gay children's book author do that in person one time and it was really hard to not laugh. Ed's would be funnier.

Valerie (Bob Wolfe’s wife) is on WTPRN radio right now. She identified the two Marshals who came to talk to her after Bob’s arrest as [name redacted] and [name redacted] from Burlington, VT. Bob told her that he hasn’t been charged on anything yet, that he would meet with a judge today, and that he would be released tomorrow.

She was upset because the Marshals saw two firearms when they came into the house. Since Bob would have to give them up as a condition of release, Koernke advised Valerie to “relocate” the rifles before that happens.

More from Valerie:
The Marshals were nice and were friendly to the dog.

Questions she was asked:

1) about the mail service her husband provided for the Browns
2) they asked about a CD Bob received that she took to work to try to play
3) they asked if they spent the night at the Browns (they knew about the camper)
4) they asked if tactical information was discussed, but she spent her time with Elaine and didn’t listen to the guys
5) they asked how many guns Bob had in the house (she refused to answer)

She sounds like a scared bunny rabbit, a little breathless.

She needs people to come get the guns. She can’t leave the house because they’ll know. She’s paranoid about a search warrant. Koernke is giving explicit instructions on the need to have a friend secure the property offsite.

She says the phone numbers for the Marshals is [redacted] in case she has questions.

Marshal: 4 Associates Of Tax-Evading Couple Arrested

POSTED: 6:25 pm EDT September 12, 2007

CONCORD, N.H. -- The U.S. marshal in New Hampshire said four men accused of helping obstruct justice in the case of convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown have been arrested.

U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier said the men are Cirino "Reno" Gonzales, 30, of Alice, Texas; Daniel Riley, 40, of Albany, N.Y.; Jason Gerhard, 22, of Brookhaven, N.Y.; and Robert Wolffe, 50, of Randolph, Vt. Charges range from accessory after the fact to possession and use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence.

Officials said they believe that the men participated in various efforts to assist the Browns in avoiding justice at their rural home in Plainfield, N.H., and conspired to impede federal agents.

The Browns, who were convicted in January and have refused to turn themselves in to authorities, claim the federal income tax is not legitimate.

The Marshals were nice and were friendly to the dog.
Only evil people hurt puppies (vets don't count, since they have to hurt to help - so there).
1) about the mail service her husband provided for the Browns
Like they needed to ask. They already know. Could it be that they're trying to figure out whether or not to charge her as well?
2) they asked about a CD Bob received that she took to work to try to play
Yanni should be a crime against humanity. Arrest her now.
3) they asked if they spent the night at the Browns (they knew about the camper)
They're only fishing for information on Goddess's prostitution ring which was relocated to Plainfield due to the additional "therapeutic" tools that E&E can provide.
4) they asked if tactical information was discussed, but she spent her time with Elaine and didn’t listen to the guys
Yeah, I guess the women-folk aren't allowed to be involved in any conversation of consequence. They just sat around knitting, and quilting and sewing while exchanging the latest Constipational Ranger gossip and brownie recipes.
5) they asked how many guns Bob had in the house (she refused to answer)
Who cares how many guns they have in the house. Smart Marshals would just ransack the place for them anyway. Painfully slow Marshals would make sure that it takes the better part of a month. I like both kinds of Marshals. Can we send them both?
She needs people to come get the guns. She can’t leave the house because they’ll know. She’s paranoid about a search warrant. Koernke is giving explicit instructions on the need to have a friend secure the property offsite.
[sarcasm]Right, if she leaves the property, they'll know. But they aren't going to read this information about sneaking the guns off the property and even if they did, they would never figure that all those extra visitors carrying large gunlike objects from the home would be an attempt to remove the weaponry from the property. No. Not at all.[/sarcasm]

Marshal: 4 associates of tax-evading couple arrested
September 12, 2007

CONCORD, N.H. --Four men accused of helping obstruct justice in the case of convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown have been arrested, U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier said Wednesday.

Monier said the men are Cirino "Reno" Gonzales, 30, of Alice, Texas; Daniel Riley, 40, of Albany, N.Y.; Jason Gerhard, 22, of Brookhaven, N.Y.; and Robert Wolffe, 50, of Randolph, Vt.

Charges range from accessory after the fact to possession and use of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence.

Officials believe that the men participated in various efforts to assist the Browns in avoiding justice at their rural home in Plainfield and conspired to impede federal agents.

The Browns, who were convicted in January and have refused to turn themselves in to authorities, claim the federal income tax is not legitimate. Supporters from across the country have visited them at their home, although some relationships have come to a bitter end: The Browns have squabbled with bloggers, radio hosts, and several spokesmen and assistants.

A Web site about the Browns says they're planning to hold a fundraising event on their property on Saturday.

Monier said Gonzales was arrested in Alice, Texas; Riley in Cohoes, N.Y.; Gerhard at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and Wolffe in Hartford, Vt.

"In this case, these men are alleged to have helped the Browns in their ongoing refusal to surrender to authorities," Monier said. "The Browns have engaged in a course of conduct that has led to further criminal investigations into their activity. Anyone who aids the Browns is subject to investigation, arrest and prosecution for serious felonies, which carry very heavy prison sentences."

Earlier this year, officials cut power and telephone service in an effort to ratchet up pressure on the couple convicted of scheming to avoid federal income taxes by hiding $1.9 million of income between 1996 and 2003. The Browns said they hadn't noticed the changes, they can survive on generators and they have 103 wooded acres to keep warm this winter. Their home is on an isolated dirt road and includes a turret that offers a 360-degree view of the property and a driveway that is sometimes barricaded with sport utility vehicles.

The Brown's phone numbers still appeared to be disconnected on Wednesday.

Also, heavily armed police once surrounded the Browns' home and readied for combat in June while they seized commercial property the couple owned in a neighboring town. SWAT teams, military and explosives vehicles marshaled in the tiny town and sparked rumors -- and expectations -- of a raid. U.S. marshals said it was only for surveillance.

Those authorities were seen by Riley, who was out walking the couple's dog when he was detained by marshals.

Since abandoning his federal trial and retreating to his home, Ed Brown has repeatedly said that any attempts to arrest him would result in a violent confrontation. He's also directly named investigators, prosecutors and the judge in his case, suggesting that they could be killed if anything happens to him. At other times, he has said their actions to date already justify retaliation.

"This was a tax case," Monier said Wednesday, "but over the last seven months, the Browns have allegedly obstructed justice and encouraged others to assist them. Ed Brown has threatened to kill law enforcement and other governmental officials. So, our message to the Browns is clear: do the right thing, call us, and surrender peacefully."

Monier said his office will continue to assist local police to control access to the Browns' property, in a safe manner "and with minimal intrusion to the Plainfield community."

Predictions that I came up with while walking way out on a tree limb:

1) There will be a call for more volunteers to come to Ed's this weekend to protect him from the imminent raid,

2) There will be a call for more money to be sent to Ed and Elaine,

3) There will be a call for any money leftover from #2 above to be sent in for a defense fund for the detainees,

4) There will be a call for everyone to write their representatives and/or media and express outrage of the unconstitutional behavior of the US Marshal's Office,

5) There will be blogs posted describing today's events as more proof that (a) the NWO, (b) the United Nations, (c) the Freemasons, (d) the International Zionist Jewish Cabal or (E) has taken control of the country.

Not that far out on the tree limb. The FREEDOM festival is this weekend. But there's also a Nascar race this Sunday, so I truly wonder how many of E&E's supporters will show.

Ed and Elaine Brown have been clued in:

http://www.hipcast.com/export/P0ea92784 ... REYWZ2.mp3

Apparently, they were redecorating, and hadn't heard the news about their "friends" being arrested for "something after the fact" (Elaine's understanding/recollection).
