Thanksgiving, Arlo Guthrie, Carnegie Hall...who's in?
Once again it appears I may come to Manhattan for the annual Arlo Guthrie Thanksgiving Dinner that can't be beat. Which is on Saturday after Thanksgiving, but I digress.
I am not yet sure I can make it, due to the strangeness of Ford's Alternative Work Schedule I may have to work that weekend, but if I can escape the car factory, I'm there.
Last year we had dinner near Times Square and only Webhick and I actually went to the concert, but I'm hoping that with a little more advance notice we can get more people to come, or at least meet in the city at some point during the day, day after, whatever we can work out.
SO, my question is, who's interested? Any suggestions? And for the record, I was kind of "meh" about Hartland for food, although the company was finestkind.

I'm not 100% sure I'll be in town Thanksgiving weekend. If I am, I'm there. It was a lot of fun the last time.

Okay, details....
I am in, as there is more than half a chance I may retire the 1st of December, what can they do? And if I decide to work a few more years, well, I'm actually off anyway
The date is 30 November, 8:00 for the concert, and I'll buy a block of tickets together but I need firm commitments for that (go on sale 7th October so there's time) They are not at all expensive (well, to a guy who paid over a grand for two seats to see Mick, Keith and the boys this summer) and I think for about $35 you can get floor seats, when they get closer to going on sale I'll know more. I'd like to splurge for really good seats this year, if that's an issue, we can discuss it...

I wish I could go. Kids are with their mother for Thanksgiving and the weekend so I'll be driving back and forth to Md. picking them up Sunday morning. Make for a long day and night going to NY and then back to Kaintuck and then to Md.

I envy you.
Riding on the City Of New Orleans
Illinois Central, Monday morning rail
Fifteen cars and fifteen restless riders
Three Conductors; twenty-five sacks of mail
All along the southbound odyssey - the train pulls out of Kankakee
And rolls along past houses, farms, and fields
Passing trains that have no name, and freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobile
Forget Alice's Restaurant, you don't get any better than that.
