Alberto Gonzalez resigns.

Post by wvfoos »

They are reporting it on the news channels.

Maybe now Ed and Elaine will finally get what's coming to them.

An acting AG (one who is pending confirmation) is less likely to act decisively than a confirmed AG. Odds are better that the Browns will now become a political election football.

WIthout Comment
President Bush wrote:"After months of unfair treatment that has created a harmful distraction at the Justice Department, Judge Gonzales decided to resign his position and I accept his decision," Bush said from Texas, where he is vacationing.

Solicitor General Paul Clement will be acting attorney general until a replacement is found and confirmed by the Senate, Bush said.

Bush said the attorney general's "good name was dragged through the mud for political reasons."

We need to start an email campaign to Alberto to remind him that he resigned in case 9/17 rolls around and he can't seem to remember what he said or did.

Mike Gravel is more likely to affect the election than the Browns.

Now you'll hear the conspiracy theories about how Gonzales resigned because the tax system is about to collapse, blah, blah, blah.

Or to anticipate Bob Schulz, "Gonzales resigned; send money."

Perhaps as a lame duck, Gonzales will initiate action so as to reduce the heat on his successor.

That would imply that he's capable if independant thought. With Rove gone, Gonzales has no one, besides the Vice President, left to pull his strings.
