Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and appoint seven individuals to serve in his Administration.

The President intends to nominate Douglas H. Shulman, of the District of Columbia, to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue at the Department of the Treasury. Mr. Shulman currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, previously known as the National Association of Securities Dealers. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Darby Overseas Investments. Prior to this he served as Senior Policy Advisor and later Chief of Staff of the bi-partisan National Commission on Restructuring the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Shulman received his bachelor's degree from Williams College, his master's degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
