I sent you a PM. At least, I think I did. Hope it goes through.

In theory, you should be able to get transcripts at an IRS Taxpayer Assistence Center. A list of those in Georgia can be found at http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/articl ... 70,00.html . IIRC, the one at 401 Peachtree in Atlanta was exorcised by Gene Chapman, so your transcripts will be demon free.

Have you tried the Taxpayer Advocate?

Also, what would be the reaction if you walked a copy of the previous Form 406-T into the Assistance Center? It may be the form has been lost in the mail [or someone's desk].

You can also call 1-800-829-1040 while you have a fax machine available and they can fax it to you immediately. As long as you can answer all of the disclosure questions correctly, so you may also want to have a copy of your most recent return handy.

It is not lost. It has been sent to unplanned destinations.

Ah! The polite way of saying, "It's sitting on someone's desk."

I stand corrected. Thoroughly chastised. I'll never do it again [until next time].

You mean it's been randomly selected for non-cyclical processing?

Or that it's been filed in the circular cabinet?

It's in File 13.

I'd just call the office of my local U.S. Representative. Federal bureaucrats tend to jump when Congressional staffers call them.

True, but the congressman's staff will sit on it for a month before calling.

Just call the IRS Practitioners' Priority Line: 866-860-4259. They'll fax you the documents. Takes about 5 minutes.

Next time call late in the P.M. The late shifters are usually more laid back. But since you were requesting your own personal information, you shouldn't need a Cenral Authorization File number (CAF #). Anyone can represent himself and have a fool for a client.

I'm glad you were able to get the information.
