SOMERSWORTH — Police removed a number of weapons from the High Street home of Tim Logsdon, a former School Board member and recent Republican District 2 state representative candidate.
In accordance with the terms of a protective order served to Logsdon by the Strafford County Sheriff's office on Wednesday, Sept. 3, police recovered "a variety of weapons," according to Police Capt. Russ Timmons.
Timmons listed pistols, rifles and shotguns — "some intact and some in a state of assembly or disassembly" — as well as semiautomatic pistols, a host of ammunition and gunpowder.
At the time the protective order was served, Capt. Lee Clement with the Sheriff's Department said the order emanates from the Columbia County Family Court in Hudson, N.Y., but did not know why it was filed out of that state.
An official with Columbia County Family Court said they do not comment on any family court matters.
Clement could not comment on the nature of the protective order served to Logsdon but said a protective order carries some similarities to a restraining order. Clement said, however, it varies in each case and he could not comment on the specifics of this particular case, including who originally filed the order.
Logsdon said he was made aware of the protective order several days before it was officially served to him and acknowledged the removal of the weapons had taken place.
