Judges doesn't want to hear either side in Schaghticoke eviction case
BY BRIGITTE RUTHMAN REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN
LITCHFIELD -- A Superior Court judge who last month ordered Michael Rost evicted from archaeologically sensitive Schaghticoke Indian lands in Kent denied motions by both sides Monday to reopen the matter and hear additional testimony.
When Rost became loud and belligerent, interrupting Judge Corinne L. Klatt, he was briefly handcuffed and removed into a lockup area of Bantam Superior Court. He warned that her decision nearly prompted a "shootout" in Kent.
Representing himself, Rost filed an appeal of Klatt's April 15 decision to evict him based on evidence presented at trial. He said he wanted Klatt to consider that he is a member of a matriarchal society called "A Mom." He said he is a sovereign citizen, subject only to a people's tribunal without lawyers.
Wearing dirty jeans, the disheveled and unshaven Rost said his ancestors can be traced back to land in Kent where he has been living in Gail Harrison-Donovan's cottage. He did not claim to be descended from a Schaghticoke Indian, which is required to be considered a voting member of the tribe. The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation and Schaghticoke Indian Tribe agree that Rost has been destroying sensitive archaeological sites and stealing Indian property.

Re: A Mom?
I'm sure that this idiot will soon be exonerated by a "people's tribunals without lawyers" held at a local bar, greasy spoon, or fast-food joint.

If he keeps this up, the judge will have to play Mom and send him to his room.
