Sov announces plan to kill at Sovereign Bank

A New York City man who authorities say has ties to anti-government extremism was arrested Tuesday for allegedly threatening to kill employees at a Pennsylvania bank.

Michael Chung, 52, allegedly faxed a letter to a Pottsville, Pennsylvania branch of Sovereign Bank on Monday in which he cited the second amendment of the Constitution and threatened to kill workers at the bank.

"The 2nd Amendment to the National Constitution authorizes the use of deadly force to protect my interests as a national citizen," said the fax, according to the criminal complaint. "I believe I have a basis to act in that manner."

Demo beat me to this one. Sovrun threatening Sovereign Bank is too good to pass up, and it happened here. The Daily News article is similar to ABC's. The criminal complaint is better. The M-J ordered Chung held without bail, in part because of bizarre behavior during his arraignment. I'll see what else I can find out.

Leaving unanswered the question as to who was the unidentified asian man who sent a fax re-negotiating Michael Chung's loan.

But wouldn't his strawman instead sent in a message that was pro-banking and supportive of the bank actually having a right to be repaid? Seems to me that this was his anti-strawman that was constructed under common law to counter anything that the strawman tried to implement.

The feds claim he’s a member of a movement that shuns government authority.
But now reputed “Sovereign Citizen” Michael Chung is ready to use the court system he supposedly disavows to strike back, after he was jailed for making a death threat against a bank official.
