Just what everybody needs . . . buy stuff to learn how to get in trouble with the IRS, then spend more money to learn how to get in more trouble with the IRS. :brickwall:

Are costs of materials to get in trouble with the IRS deductible?

If someone went to Clarkson's seminar in connection with an actual Tax Court case, the cost might be deductible. There is no requirement that the expense be related to something that might actually work. But even if Clarkson's students file returns, it's doubtful that they itemize.
