For information and delectation, a FOI request has revealed that Action Fraud have received 35 complaints of fraud against Were Bank since its inception in April 2015.

I know I'm a "Newbie" ... but I've read every thread on PoE with interest (I knew Paula Campbell )
I also have a OH that lived in Austria for 15+yrs (he lived in a flat near the guy @Sollenblut is talking about ... calls him "the man with the 'HIT ME' face")

You don't have to register, although it'll make you think you do. It'll provide a link to the .pdf that you can post on here.

Worked for me!afateworsethandeath wrote:https://www.docdroid.net/VHd3A7W/were-bank-foi.pdf.html
Hope this works!!!
The FOI request was made 2 May and clearly a response made quite promptly.
I guess it depends on the institution, but this seems pretty prompt to me but I have never made a FOI request myself, so maybe this is the norm?

Yes, they normally reply within 20 working days. That was pretty quick and obviously didn't involve a great deal of work for them.

Nice detective work. My question is, is that a noteworthy number? How many complaints do they get about legitimate banks in the same time frame? Is 35 enough to get someone higher up investigating the matter?afateworsethandeath wrote:For information and delectation, a FOI request has revealed that Action Fraud have received 35 complaints of fraud against Were Bank since its inception in April 2015.

Andreas Wöhrle, the German WeRe member that was sentenced to a 1.500 Euro fine for using two WeRe checks, hasn't learned his lesson ...
Here a few quotes from the German WeRe skype chat today ...

Yes, show your understanding by using as many WeRe checks as possible ...Andreas W:
in about 5 to 8 weeks my appeal will go before a judge, I will report about that
G...:
have you managed to use any of the 13 LLTs successfully??
Andreas W
no, not one. Some came back, a few were turned down with a letter, without sending the LLTs back, some have lead to charges that I try to "work through" now ...
G...:
crazy
I got my own LLTs now
what should I do with them
Andreas W
well, I see two possibilities ... waiting, until someone has found a way to make it work without the system getting all pi...y about it
or, which I find better, as many people as possible should try and use their LLTs, showing that they have understood the system.

Pathetic. Really does bring to mind the Einstein quote.

"Dumm wie Stroh" (sometimes just "Strohdumm") - literally "thick as straw"

We'd probably say dumb as a rock or a box of rocks, but Strohdumm works just as well. Thx.

Thick as two short planks, or thick as shit are the favourites here.
We used to say things like as thick as an Irishman stuck in a round room and told to stand in the corner, but we get told off now of you say that in public.
