I am starting a new thread for the GOODF helpline issue, since it is worthy of its own discussion, and doesn't seem to have anything to do with Mark Haining.

Once again Colon has shown us what a gullible idiot he is and believes anything he reads on the internet if it agrees with his beliefs.
On 2nd November he started a thread titled:
BUSTED, HERE ARE THE COMPLETE RIGGED ELECTION RESULTS. TRUMP LOSES.
http://www.getoutofdebtfree.org/forum/v ... CLy5Mt75dg

In his post there is a link that gives us the results in advance:
http://82.221.129.208/basepaget2.html

I doubt anyone on GOOFs will dare to point out that Colon has been proven to be a fuckwit and that thread will disappear quietly.

You can't fault the logic can you? The election was rigged. The proof lies in the fact that they allowed Trump to win, in order to conceal the fact that it was rigged.

Here's cracker .. Schedule of Fees

For those who've not looked under this particular stone, this refers to the fact that the famous Goofy "Three Letters" claims to commit the creditor to paying fees every time they write to the debtor. Some Goofies have tried to claim these fees, and some have apparently lost in court and been hit with charges (can't find the source for that). The more sensible Goofies now advise against billing and say this should be removed from the letters. Not so Ceylon, he defends it, and as he says "Billing works as long as your not interested in trying to make money from it". Whatever that means.

Ceylon has said much the same thing before, pretending his foisted contracts are reasonable. Don't try and charge millions, he has said, just be reasonable such as £20 per letter.

That's actually pretty smart. One of his letters might find some incompetent clerk with standing instructions to pay off rather than fight over petty amounts.

(EDIT: minor rewording for clarity)

However his actual letters, the templates on Goofy, quote sums like £1000 per letter received, or £100 payable in advance to request permission to send a letter.

I work in the website business, and our customers are often targeted with "phony invoice" scams. The scammer sends a sales solicitation letter that looks like an invoice, for a small amount of money, hoping some low-end clerk uncritically pays it. My initial thought was that "fee schedule" demand letters for small amounts could exploit this same tendency.

But on second thought, I suspect that the nature of these GOODF letters gets them handled by better-trained people, who would not fall for the ruse. Though I wouldn't be surprised if someone who sends a lot of GOOFY letters demanding 20 GBP turns up a check for 20 GBP once in awhile.

If I recall correctly I believe a former GOODF poster called Marshall had some short lived success with a small fee schedule which prompted him to try for a much larger one. He lost the second case massively and managed to get a considerable costs order against him. It was detailed in this thread here, where Marshall even popped up to defend his scheme. viewtopic.php?f=52&t=10317&start=20

Video of talk on 8th Nov. Mindless drivel you may expect an 8yr old to come out with. He reckons Australia has physically moved closer to the Philipines.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ew1EK_QZ6I

Highlight for me ( at 29.00 ) he is talking about fake mortgages etc etc and says " those that are fortunate enough to find GOODF.............." Mmmmm I guess Old Tom Crawfraud was one of those fortunates who no longer has a mortgage thanks to Goodf - and as an added bonus he no longer has a house either.

Read his thread on Goofy, note that even after he's had his claim struck out (ie he lost), the Goofies are referring to it as his "win". Although some of that may be even deeper misunderstanding than normal even over there ..

Haining or Doctor Haining as we must now apparently call him seems to have a renewed interest in the alt-medicine scene.

I've noticed that over the last few months or so he's been busy posting links to Youtoob quackery.

I won't reproduce the actual links to the pages because in his usual style he puts up a new thread, usually with a truncated title with a youtooby linky and most of the time no-one comments but here's a summary.

Some of the sites promoted come dangerously close to breaching the Cancer Act of 1939 which is discussed here;

http://scienceblog.cancerresearchuk.org ... ancer-act/

An extract from the opeing of the article
The Cancer Act is designed to protect patients and the public.

The 1930s was a turbulent decade.

Staggering through the Great Depression and on the brink of war, people danced away their troubles to the latest swing tunes pouring from their newly-acquired radio sets, or piled into cinemas to see the newest offerings from Hollywood.

For cancer patients there were few treatments other than surgery or primitive radiotherapy, and the first chemotherapy drugs – developed from the chemicals originally used to make mustard gas – were still at least a decade away. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given this rather dismal backdrop of clinical options, quack cancer cures were flourishing.

And at the end of the thirties, a little-known piece of legislation came through the UK’s Houses of Parliament: the Cancer Act, 1939, brought in to “make further provision for the treatment of cancer, to authorise the Minister of Health to lend money to the National Radium Trust, to prohibit certain advertisements relating to cancer, and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.”

It may sound archaic – and it has been significantly revised in the years since it was forged – but this decades-old law is still used in court today, most recently in several recent successful prosecutions by various Trading Standards teams against people advertising alleged cures for cancer.

It’s because of this that we occasionally receive messages claiming that the Act is ‘suppressing the cure for cancer’, and have seen petitions demanding that it should be repealed.
Cancer sufferers will take almost any action they can in an effort to treat/cure themselves. Many have and will continue to fall victim to the con merchants, quacks and charlatans who cash in on their misery, whether to exploit them financially or because of whacky unproven new-age beliefs - or both.

The above article summarises the active part of this legislation;
All but one of these sections have now been repealed or subsumed into other pieces of legislation, and only one – section four – still stands.

The full text of section four, showing the alterations that have been made to it over the years, is copied at the bottom of this post. But to put it simply, it is a blanket ban on advertising cancer treatments to the general public.

To paraphrase the legal stuff, section four of the Act says:

Nobody (including limited companies) can publish any advert – meaning a notice, circular, label, wrapper or other document, or any announcement made orally or by any means of producing or transmitting sounds – aimed at the public, offering to treat anyone for cancer, to prescribe any treatments for the disease, or to give advice in connection to cancer treatment.
If they do, they could be convicted, fined and/or imprisoned for up to three months.
I think it is despicable to suggest that the medical profession know how to cure cancer but are choosing to suppress that knowledge and that their hippocratic oath somehow promotes this.

Quite what such active promotion, by Haining, of out and out quackery has to do with getting out of debt (free) I don't know but he's walking a thin line with the alt-cancer cures.
