Upon filing the suit, the Plaintiffs formally asked the Court for emergency injunctive relief, i.e., to order state election officials to modify the voting procedures for the Iowa Straw Poll to insure the validity of the voting process.
What kind of stupid crap is that?

The (meaningless) "Straw Poll" was run by the Iowa Republican Party. State election officials had absolutely nothing to do with it and couldn't care less about it.

How long before ol' Bob earns himself a vexatious litigant designation?

This kind. From Judge Gritzner's decision denying a preliminary injunction:
The Court is aware of no constitutional right to participate in the details of a nonbinding poll hosted by a private political party, and Plaintiffs have failed to establish the state of Iowa’s participation in the Iowa Straw Poll is such that the straw poll has been transformed into or otherwise can be deemed a public affair. Plaintiffs have not demonstrated that the voting to take place at the Iowa Straw Poll rises beyond the level of “intra-party deliberations,” see Rogers v. Corbett, 468 F.3d 188 (3d Cir. 2006), and infringes on their right of access to the ballot box. Plaintiffs have failed to establish a likelihood of success on the merits of their constitutional claim.
In fact, they have established "a likelihood of failure on the merits of their constitutional claim".

But send money anyway.

Still nothing on givemeliberty.org

Looks like Bob is going to take the Chrissy Hansen approach, "Up Yours, DOJ!" and see if they do anything about it.

Hansen's website is still up in all of its glory, of course.
