Tax protesting runs in cycles, or if you prefer, like the ebb and flow of the tide. There were strong TP movements over the last 5 decades that grew and then all but disappeared when most of their adherents realized that this stuff didn't work, that their gurus got jailed, or even worse they themselves landed in hot water.
