I suspect the answer is yes. They added "Q" to "Gentlemen's Barbers York" last September.

Now, I don't know if York is a city that has hairdresser registration requirements (local authorities can mandate but not all do), but if they do they can shut them down regardless of not paying the fines.

(Side note: Hairdressing, like tattooing, is a cash rich business. It's why it is a go to for those who like to sail close to the wind on taxation).
Dark forces have caught up with the Common Law COVID warriors it seems

The comments in the link show that, in the main the public are quite pleased at events. Good to see a robust approach being taken - no sign of CLC Constables coming to their rescue and the majik wurdz of Magnum Carter are as impotent as they ever were.

And suggest that Messrs Cross and Bell may have been in the news before.

Of course we could be looking at an unfortunate coincidence of names...

As has been mentioned, a Barber shop is an ideal way to avoid paying the tax man too much.
Interestingly they registered it as a Company last year. Money laundering springs to mind.

I wonder if the barbers shop supplied "something for the weekend" in the sense I use the expression rather than the sense my dad would have used the expression.

Looking at their Instagram I'm not sure if the 'Directors' are doing any actual barbering & have actually employed some.

It was registered as "Gentleman's Barbers York" before that, hence why I posted that I believe that they are FotLers based on their adding "Q" to the name for no apparent reason.

Looking at their Instagram
They don't appear to offer much of a selection of styles. Chav cut or nothing.

Speaking of dodgy barbers, this chap comes to mind.

Here is Tobe Hayden Leigh you may remember him from when he tried to remove his friend from hospital with Covid: https://www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/ ... ff-241463/
This time he and his likeminded mates are reporting the government to the police for crimes against humanity. :brickwall:

Not named in the report for some reason, but had they been, I reckon there's a good chance they would have been familiar faces.
Four men have been banned from every hospital in England after broadcasting images of supposedly empty corridors in a bid to claim Covid-19 was a hoax.

They filmed themselves at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

West Mercia Police said the men, who were not wearing face coverings, challenged hospital staff, accusing them of spreading fake news.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust said their actions were reckless.

West Mercia Police said the men, whom it is not naming, would now only be able to attend hospitals for a medical reason, under the terms of their community protection notices.

He's banging on about Ethylene Oxide an old favourite of the conspiracy nutters, but in a new bit of idiocy he's claiming it's the main ingredient in antifreeze.

Anyone who watches Forensic Files knows that it's ethylene glycol.

Has he launched an exposé of dihydrogen monoxide yet?

Ethylene oxide? Is this some new conspiracy theory I haven't heard?

I don't know much about the stuff apart from the fact it is one of those chemicals with a wide repertoire of ways in which it can kill you. From exploding if you look at it funny to good old fashioned poisoning if you're in the same county as a leaky container.

I like the bit where they wave a letter of some sort at the police saying that because it says 'Ipsos MORI' at the top, it's proof that the intent is murder...

Some Covid test kits are sterilised with Ethylene Oxide (as are zillions of bits of medical kit). The whackos have picked this up, misunderstood as usual, and are circulating stories the the kit sprays Ethylene Oxide up you nose. As the guy says in that video.

Ah... I see... Thanks for that.

The usual and probably deliberate confusion between "produced using" and "containing". Bread is baked in an oven therefore bread contains ovens... And for The Flying Spaghetti Monster (BBHNA) sake nobody tell them how margarine is made.

Actually, Ethylene Oxide is used in antifreeze, although I believe that Ethylene Glycol is more common.

From the National Cancer Institute:
Ethylene Oxide

What is ethylene oxide?

At room temperature, ethylene oxide is a flammable colorless gas with a sweet odor. It is used primarily to produce other chemicals, including antifreeze. In smaller amounts, ethylene oxide is used as a pesticide and a sterilizing agent. The ability of ethylene oxide to damage DNA makes it an effective sterilizing agent but also accounts for its cancer-causing activity.

"Used to make" and "used in" are quite different. Ethylene Oxide is a gas at normal temperatures and pressure, so it's not likely to be in antifreeze as a constituent. You can create salt from a highly reactive metal and a poisonous gas.

I've been watching too many NileRed videos on You tube!

See also the fact that some vaccines were developed using a foetal cell line therefore all vaccines contain foetal cells... I read it on Facebook so it must be true. I liked the meme that listed countless ingredients in vaccines and then "also used as..." to make them sound scarier. You know the sort of thing... "Chloride.... Potassium chloride is used in lethal injection executions". Yeah... True enough but it's sodium chloride in the vaccine and we put that on out chips... And chloride ions are essential to all* life.

I love NileRed but if I had to choose I'd got for the foul mouthed Aussie over the polite Canadian and choose Explosions and Fire / Extractions and Ire... How dare the little bugger take time off from entertaining me to finish his doctorate... Mind you... His resolve seems to have cracked on that one.

* I think.

I like Nile Red because he reminds me of the keen chemistry student I was once. E&F reminds me of the idiot who blew up his flat and put himself in hospital for two weeks by not considering properly that magnesium powder would ignite first before it melted.

I'm 90% sure that E&F is just as good and safe a chemist as Nigel but a better showman and he's the only chemistry YouTuber I've ever seen state what should be obvious, but wasn't to me until he said it. If there's any risk of (unwanted) explosion then disposable plastic drinking "glasses" are a lot safer than traditional glass laboratory ware. As long as you don't need to put them over the Bunsen Burner I suppose.
