Search box floating to the right
I don't know how long it's been doing it, but on my desktop, the Search box floats to the right of the main screen. Any ideas how to rein in the search box ?

"Floats"? You obviously need to get out of admiralty jurisdiction.

Re: Search box floating to the right
To whoever is in charge of the site css, this works:
search-header should have position: relative, top:223px, right:0
(tested in Chrome and Firefox on PC, not tested responsive)
Top and right might need further adjustment depending on exactly where you want the box to sit.

Thanks, Mike, but I would only play with things like style sheets in an emergency. webhick normally does that stuff, but she has been really busy lately. It's not that big a deal.

My search box stopped floating after I stopped using the heavy hallucinogens. Around 1970, I think it was.....

JRB - As Mike_p says, it is likely misconfigured CSS (cascading style sheets). I use Firefox, and it happens for me too. My guess is that, if the browser window is sufficiently wide, it will happen for any browser. But, if anyone finds it annoying, just narrow the window. It will move back into place.

Should be all set now. Thanks, Mike_p, for the code. Looks like I left some stray stuff in there.
Let me know if it's still messed up guys and I'll tweak.

Re: Search box floating to the right
The floating search bar issue started for me within the last week. I was about to post here and say that it was still an issue, but then I read the above reply and widened my browser (Safari) window, and the search bar went back to where it belongs. Thanks!wserra wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 5:21 pm JRB - As Mike_p says, it is likely misconfigured CSS (cascading style sheets). I use Firefox, and it happens for me too. This happens to me when I use a mobile browser on a smart phone or tablet. It does not happen when I use a regular computer.

Re: Search box floating to the right
Has something recently changed in this area?
I'm using Firefox, and, as of today, the search box has now moved down below the "Page x of y" text in the page body (and is apparently behind the user information), and the "Notifications" and "Private messages" text has gone, so I'm just getting the bell and mailbox icons.
The problem goes away if I increase the width of the browser window to something inconveniently large.
(I wish that we could go back to using tables for layout - I've never seen any argument against it other than "it's immoral", and it works perfectly...)
