TP commercial pilot convicted

Post by Demosthenes »

According to prosecutors, Jack Wharton Thomas, 54, didn't pay Colorado taxes for 2004 through 2008. He claimed he didn't meet the definition of "taxpayer," did not earn "wages" and was a resident of Wyoming, not Colorado.

During a two-day Denver trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Thomas is a resident of Black Forest and a commercial airline pilot.

Yawn.

Wake us up when a TP comes up with something other than these "time-worn arguments."

The airline companies really need to start paying their pilots more.

Another Colorado TP goes down

Post by notorial dissent »

According to a Denver Post article, Black Forest(north and east of Colorado Springs) resident Jack Wharton Thomas was found guilty of evasion of taxes, fraud by check, forgery of checks or commercial instruments, and, filing a false tax return, all state related charges, for the years 2004 - 2008, and sentenced to 10 years probation, a 3 year suspended sentence, and 45 days in jail.

Thomas proceeded pro se apparently making all the usual TP arguments and "claiming many errors" in an attempt to invalidate the charges, and wait for it...
" that he did not earn any "wages" as defined by the government", now where have we heard that before? And the icing on the cake, he is a commercial airline pilot.

So it looks like we have a new one in Colorado, can't tell for sure if he is one of Pete's flock or just happened to fall on that particular excuse for not paying.
