As I've often noted I generally wrote up the epic postings late at night while guzzling red wine and listening to 1950's jazz; the combination tended to set up a mocking, sarcastic mood conducive to my writing style. Sadly those days are pretty much gone now that the Canadian Freeman/Sovereign movement has collapsed and all of the Paradigm prosecutions have finally run their course. However, once in a long while, someone like Arbabi bursts out of nowhere and gets me back in the game.

It's not up on the Courts of British Columbia site yet (2024 BCSC 810) but the Arbabi v McClelland costs case decision has been made.

TL;DR Ms. McLelland gets $29,510.34 in costs.

In one of the above links, there is the claim that arbabi used a website called The Sovereign's Way. I found the site, which is full of sovereign claptrap promises. Is there any idea of who is the owner/promoter of that site? I don't think it is Karl Lentz.

I'm glad you were made at least partly whole, although I'm sure memory of the aggravation remains. We do this in part because we find these idiots amusing. But their antics cause real-life consequences to real-life people who have done nothing to deserve them.

I would be interested to know if this is one of the few times that an OPCA litigant has paid their court ordered amount in full.

Ms. Anderson, mentioned elsewhere on Quatloos, has paid much more substantial amounts to the courts. That being said, she is the beneficiary of a very healthy estate and the sums are extracted from a large deposit paid from the estate trust to the court.

I was somewhat familiar with Ms. Anderson and her shananigans. I understand that at one point she was fined $300,000. What I didn't know is that the cost judgment was registered against her inheritance. Good to know. Any kind of accountability and deterrent like this is good for all!
