Bruce Birinyi, 44, of Cleveland, was indicted on charges of criminal non-support for owing approximately $38,000 to his two sons.

Bruce Birinyi considers himself to be a “freeman/sovereign citizen.”
Birinyi ... refused to come to the defense table. The judge held him in contempt of court and ordered him to be arrested.

When a sheriff’s deputy attempted to arrest the defendant in the court room, he resisted arrest. The deputy in trying to apprehend him fractured a rib as they both fell to the floor. Bruce Birinyi was indicted on charges pertaining to the assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business.

Bruce Birinyi went to trial representing himself before Judge Peter Corrigan on both cases. On July 9, 2010, after a four day trial, the jury found him guilty of two counts of criminal non-support, two counts of assault on a peace officer, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of obstructing official business. He faces 3-1/2 years in prison. This was the first criminal non-support jury trial.

Cuyahoga county, isn't that where Roger Elvick earned the conviction leading to his current incarceration? Maybe Mr.Birinyi can be Elvick's new cell mate learning the "accepted for value" trick from the father of UCC redemption and have the US treasury pay his back child support from his trust fund.
