Admittedly, I was foolish enough to provide my real cell phone number. So I was not surprised when I received a recorded message last week reminding me about their "conference call" that was about to happen.Doc Bunkum wrote:Trust me, Mythbuster, I use a freebie Yahoo! email address, and as for my cell phone number, it's one I pulled out of thin air.
Then it dawned on me: One of the reasons they don't want home phone numbers is because of the "do not call" regulations that vary from state to state. If I'm not mistaken, they can get around many of those regulations by using a cell phone number (especially one that was eagerly provided by an unsuspecting idiot like me).

From the "Same Story, Different Day" file --
There was some interesting chatter about the "conference call" that happened earlier this week, and for amusement's sake I've posted one conversation below. (NOTE: You can click on the TLP FB website, kindly provided by Emet, and read this for yourself -- it was posted on Thursday 10/14/2010):
Jaynish: "The conference call seemed same as the video that "Top Level Position" posted below".
Michael: "Jaynish, it was the same. Nothing new that we didn't already know. The call was the same as the last one. So much hype on " conference call better call early so you can listen", and then when you do it's the same old thing."
Jaynish: " I just want more information like everyone else you know?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps a FB link from TLP to this Quatloos thread would help to answer their questions?
They are now up to almost 7,000 fans on FB. However, most of the posts seem to be from a small group of people trying to get others to join TLP by linking to their "personal websites" -- in essence using the TLP's FB page to build their own downlines.

Interesting concept!
I'm beginning to doubt this has anything to do with Salu.
I took that info at face value, but questioning the poster on MMG, it doesn't seem to have much validity.
Suppose we'll just have to wait until Nov. 15 to see what kind of crap they're peddling.
Re: Top Level Position Worldwide
I'm posing this as a question, since when it comes to interpreting laws and regulations, my brain often fogs over.Mythbuster wrote:Admittedly, I was foolish enough to provide my real cell phone number. Isn't it perhaps likely that they asked for cell numbers, as most people are used to telemarketers calling home phone numbers, and many consumers may not be aware that cell phones can be registered on the FTC Do Not Call Registry?
I know I have informed many friends that they can register their cell phones, and they expressed surprise.
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consume ... lt107.shtmCan I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry?
Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.
You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers don’t call consumers on their cell phones without their consent.
I found this web page, and can't vouch for its accuracy, but it states:
http://www.donotcallprotection.com/do_n ... hart.shtmlFTC Fines are now $16,000. per violation. The FCC says it "will default to the more stringent of the two whether State or Federal DNC Laws". And some States (Like California) are issuing citations based on the National List.
I'm just asking...

So in the latest email they sent out today, they go on record as stating:
Funny, I went to the site of a pair of hose bag internet marketers and they claim...
How did you manage to accomplish that?
In other words, they're keeping everything hush hush for the moment.Top Level Family,
What can you expect to happen on Nov 1st?
- You will hear all about our company, compensation plan and life changing products.
-

Sure you researched the company and tried the products, Mary."I love the products and everything I've researched about the company behind top level position. I'm so excited. Bring it on!"
Mary Volkmann
How did you manage to accomplish that?
Re: Top Level Position Worldwide
Their site reads: "A scam typically involves money. It's safe to rule out Top Level Position. It is NOT a scam. They are not taking credit cards. This is not a scam."Doc Bunkum wrote:Funny, I went to the site of a pair of hose bag internet marketers and they claim...
(From what I hear, just wait until November 1st and they will take your credit card, if you want to activate your membership (@ about $145 each)! Sorry, I read that information earlier but can't put my finger on the exact source at this moment, but I will find it if need be.)
The website http://www.mlmwatchdog.com has a list of questions to determine whether or not an MLM "opportunity" is really a pyramid scheme, a scam, or a "legitimate" business opportunity. Item #8 from their list reads:
"WATCHOUT FOR: An email solicits you to a "HOT" VERY BEST MLM, Party Plan or Network Marketing Company! The Good or Best MLM Companies forbid spam. Home based business notes and Other:"
A. Look for exclamation marks and capital letters used to lend legitimacy or urgency! Beware of disclaimers such as “this is not a pyramid selling scheme or scam” (legitimate offers don't contain such claims). Don't believe promises of fast wealth. No really good or best Network Marketer would do this
B. If you feel, see or hear "Get Rich Quick!” Run! If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! MLM - Network Marketing takes some work, like any good Home Based Business.
Seems to me that the Top Level Position marketing promises these very things ... not a scam, this will be the best, etc. What advice does mlmwatchdog.com give in such a case?
"RUN!"

It appears the company behind TLP is Pure3x, headed up by Andrew Rinehart.
The Harvard doctor on board is Kenneth M. Kroll, M.D., FICS.
Rinehart says on Twitter, with a link to Pure3X:

Craigslist.com seems to be a favorite spot on which to advertise this opportunity. In New York, it is being marketed as a "marketing/advertising/PR job": http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/mar/1995715954.html
... as a sales job in Hong Kong: http://hongkong.craigslist.hk/sls/1999615872.html and in Frankfurt: http://frankfurt.de.craigslist.de/sls/

Unfortunately, the ad appearing on Craigslist in Denver has been flagged for removal: http://denver.craigslist.org/for/2001618137.html

Oh yeah, check out this rambling 11 minute YouTube video, posted in early September 2010, entitled "Is this program SCAM? [sic] To join or not to join ..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLWqGE9kuYM if you want to.
Or don't watch it, then you won't be upset when you realize you just wasted 11 minutes of your life watching dribble posted by the "Top Level Position Team on their YouTube "Chanel" [sic]
God bless the person who posted under this video: "Can we say Web 2.0 Ponzi? Thanks for playing!"

This just in ... (to my inbox that is):
Top Level Family,
Not even 60 days into our pre launch, we've experienced growth not known in this industry before. Tens of thousands have joined us from around the world and it continues to increase everyday! We truly feel blessed to be working with so many good people. This will lead up to the biggest product launch in networking history!
Did you know that over 15,000 people are joining us every week? Due to the large amount of people joining us, we've received numerous requests to delay our official launch one week so that more people have the chance to enroll free and benefit from this program.
What does a launch Nov 8th instead of Nov 1st launch mean for you? It means 15,000 or MORE people in your business, it means more conversion, it means more money in your pocket! This also means that those attending the Nov 6th event in Atlanta GA will be the very FIRST to learn about the company.
We're excited to begin working with you - mark Nov 8th in your calenders as THE DAY! We can't delay it further than that date so take advantage of the FREE enrollment while you can!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Damn, another week of excitement, thrill and anticipation before the big unveiling!

Basically, what they're saying is, they're having quality control problems with their product and they need another week to sort the problems out with their suppliers before they dump it on the market.

Thought you might be interested in this link: http://hubpages.com/hub/Pure-Energy-Club-Scam Ignore the dribble at the top of the page as well as the "polls" they asked you to take. Scroll down into the conversations that readers posted over the past 14 months. The really good stuff starts to appear about half way down the page. If TLP = Pure3x, then the postings should answer many questions about what to expect.
The two postings that caught my eye in particular appear near the bottom of the page. The first one was posted four weeks ago: "Efusjon failed and became pur3x is what I am understanding. Is toplevelinvestor included in this?" The second one was posted three weeks ago: "I need some help I did not know that the pur3x company originated with Efusion. I thought they were separate companies that both used the Matrix Compensation Pay Plan."
Could there be a deeper connection here? (i.e. - Did Efusjon become Pur3x before morphing into TopLevelPosition?)
Just a curiosity ...

Hey there. I also have run into top level position and you can read about my run in on my blog
http://oneeasyplan.blogspot.com/2010/10 ... ition.html
Needless to say I was less than impressed by the little prick I ran into and by the whole concept of the company with a mystery sponsor, a mystery product, and a mystery comp plan. Do you get paid in monopoly money also? Who knows. It was the very thought of them spamming people with extremely false comments that started the whole argument but, then again, the cant prove anything so the whole company is false advertising huh. They are not a publicly traded company, dont exist anywhere on paper that I can find, and when I did my own search I came up with the same information you did: jackshit.

TLP's most recent FaceBook posting (Posted approximately 6:30 pm CDT, 10/29/2010): Top Level Position GROWTH GAUGE - More people enrolled today than we've ever had before in a single day. Someone new is enrolling every 7 seconds right now!! Are you in? Benefit from the masses
Yes, you read that right: "BENEFIT FROM THE MASSES"

"They pay $6-8 per case ordered in your down line. Running on a 3x12 forced matrix (much better then balancing legs like many other companies) which means there are 531,441 slots in your downline. Meaning if everyone in your full downline bought just one case of product (and most will because it's a tool to build their business as well as a beverage they enjoy some will even buy more then one case) Your commission would be $4,251,528 per month."
"Now the reality is few people have what it takes to fill that full matrix, but getting in early on a company with the awesome products and leadership this company has is a once in a life time opportunity, that will provide you with an open road and more ability to fill that full matrix then anything else you could possibly get into. Re: Top Level Position Worldwide
Hey guys, I just received this in reply to my Top Level Position post on my blog and thought Id share with the class
Hey James,
I see that you ran into someone who was uninformed, and I apologize for the way that person treated you.
Top Level Position is legitimate, it is Pur3x's marketing campaign to launch worldwide, and a new product. http://www.pur3x. it was a little odd the way they did it but someone somewhere thought that creating mystery about the company would be a good idea. I have asked myself many times why they didn't just provide all the info up front. Pur3x is owned by Andrew Reinhart. Larry Lanteri, and Rick Hagar are master distributors and the new products are being developed by Dr. Kenneth M. Kroll, M.D.
Pur3x has certainly attracted some unprofessional people in this massive anonymous launch and hopefully those people will get in with a good mentor that can teach them better then to out and out flame someone in writing. There are bad eggs in any company and all industries unfortunately.
I'd like to encourage you to look into pur3x, and sign up for top level position, and contact me with any other questions you might have about all of the above.
http://www.topleve
Behind the hype is a real company, with real people, real products, and a real opportunity.
Website has been redacted to protect the innocent. More something to chew on.

James - did you notice that the individual who posted their reply to your blog is the same person whose dribble I quoted above? (See my quote from moonlight_rain, above). If you first click on the link to her hub pages that I provided and look at her picture, and then click on the individual's link who replied to your blog, you'll notice it's the same person in both pictures.

I saw that too Mythbuster after I went through and reread your earlier post. So there is one person looking at the blogs saying good things about the company. And it also appears that she likes advertising porn on her website... lol. I advertise google and she advertises porn.

For the sake of beating this horse to death once and for all: Yesterday TLP acknowledged that their opportunity was really Pur3x.
Today is their big launch, and according to TLP's Facebook conversations, not all is well in ScamLand: http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?s ... 6816865482
Mythbuster's favorite FaceBook comment today is: "Lev Buchel: WoW!!! it's just a can of energy drink! fking scam!" [sic]
Lots of people just now figuring out that they need a credit card "to become active". Oops ... slight detail overlooked, or just ignored in the thought of getting something for nothing?
Thank you for playing.

Anyhow, in other news, some jackass over on mlm.com posted this highly informative piece explaining exactly what Top Level Position is and the people involved:
Of course, I had a few questions regarding that piece. Not the least being their claim that they have created multiple new millionaires and have been responsible for billions of dollars in sales. How is that possible when in fact they haven't even officially launched yet?vtson_qn wrote:New business opportunities on the internet
