As an atheist, I have a bias towards believing that whenever anyone says their position is based upon the word of God it's actually, consciously or not, their own opinion that they are trying to boost upwards by attaching God to it.

Just my general statement on the whole "Jesus says I'm in charge" appeal.

That is not bias, it's healthy skepticism.
