My late cousin Dave actually did do a world tour opening for Metallica! Check out David Wayne on Wiki, or his old band, MetalChurch.

I miss him, just because it was nice to have another black sheep for all the aunties to fuss about.

I saw MetalChurch in 1990.
I have a CD by them.

I occupy the position of being the first child born to my particular generation, which somehow seems to have made me Chief of the Council of Cousins (hey, we're Injuns, deal with it). Cousin Dave was, naturally, younger than me, and I'll never forget when he, his three brothers, and his parents came and stayed with us for a week. My parents had three daughters. And before the week was over, even the wimpiest of us three--my baby sister--could beat the hell out of any of the boys. Long live adaptation and self-defense. It stood us well at heavy metal concerts.

So why didn't you employ your martial arts skills on the brass bands?
