I installed ZB Block this morning to attempt to thwart the hundreds of failed spammer log attempts each day. They were generating about seven pages of logs a day and using the ACP to ban their IP wasn't stopping them. Anti-Spam mods also would not have done anything.

I hooked it into the forum at 11:46 AM. Last login attempt by a spammer was 11:46 AM. Take that, bitches!

This program will help protect us against hackers, spammers, and screen scrapers. Our normal users should experience virtually no difference, except maybe the site will be a bit faster because we won't have malicious bastards slamming into our board.

For those of you curious as to how it works, in a handy airport security analogy:
You go to the airport.
You hit a security checkpoint.
They give you a cavity search and check your DNA against various no-fly lists.
If they find nothing, they wipe your memory and send you on your way with virtually no time lost.
If they find something, they throw you out.

So congratulations, you're being cavity searched with every page view. But you'll never know it unless you're a baddie.

BTW, I didn't bother to check to see if it blocked Anonomizer services.

And then I just had to find out. Trolls can't hide behind their precious anonymizer services anymore!
