Yet Another CtCer hits brick wall hard

Post by Joey Smith »

This is like the birds who keep crashing into the sliding glass door -- there is a new one every day with more-or-less the same result. Poor dumb bastards.

When I filed my 2006 return I did not add the Social Security and Medicare Tax as part of my Federal Income tax withheld. I received a refund from the IRS.

I filed for 2005 but this time I added SSN and Medicare. I have received a frivolous letter and am being asked to fill-out a questionnaire and return within 10 days. If you have successfully received a refund did you add in SSN and Medicare tax, and if so, were you too asked to complete a questionnaire?

Thanks,

EK

What does this guy and Pink Floyd have in common?

Their last big hit was The Wall.

Is it just me or does it sound like the IRS system is starting to catch the CtCers trying to claim SS & Medicare refunds?

That would be the obvious answer, so the Lost Heads will have already rejected it. Erik probably used the wrong color ink on his return.

Ah, that's right. Unless your pen is inked with the blood of innocents, the IRS will send you a "frivolous" letter. :)
