YLEO (essential oils)!

Post by Paths of the Sea »

In recent days I happened to cross swords a bit with an old preacher and in trying to figure him out noticed today that he seemed to be hooked into the MLM of the YLEO company which helped explain some of what I had been wondering about.

I also noticed there were some critical comments about the company, as well as some compliments regarding the quality of its products, in this venue.

So, I thought I would post his recent comments (testimonial) from a few minutes ago and see if anyone here might provide me with a little more enlightenment regarding what that is all about (I've browsed the net a bit and didn't find a whole lot of critical analysis).

Anita, it is the closest to the fountain of youth that I know anything about.

There is no turning back aging, but the oils provide a way to age with joy and good feeling.

I have been down lately more than I have been , probably for more than the combined times of all my life past.

I had intended to not say anything until the job was complete.

However, a doctor spotted some skin cancers and described how to spot the mature kind.

He set me up with an appointment to have some cut off/out but I cancelled and began new treatment with a vengeance.

The spots disappeared from my leg; two have already disappeared from my arms, three others are shrinking, two changing character quickly, and both Wanda and I are thrilled.

Two of these appeared suddenly, but the ones on my arm have just very recently changed character very quickly.

I think the last antibiotic the doctor gave me for infection in the leg took my immune system down so far, coupled with eating too much fresh fruit to help the oils bring it up again, got too much sugar and fed the cancer cells causing them to aggregate quickly.

But I am greatly encouraged that S. Frankincense will get them all.

Plan to back it up with a little help.

But capsules three to five times daily, with topical application three to five times is working wonders.

So Anita, you can see why I love you and Leesa so much and shall be forever grateful to you both.

I have faced some gravely serious health issues before and overcame them because I have an open and inquisitive mind.

Congestive heart almost killed me four or five years ago but overcame that, and earlier in life others, but I believe the word cancer strikes apprehension deeper in my heart than any other word.

But, I truly believe the oils will take care of it, at least it seems to be doing a good job to date.

Again, thank you.

Anita Hand just added the following in response to Charles' testimonial:

Sacred Frankincense is just amazing.

I'm taking it orally along with orange now too as a preventative knowing it will work on anything and everything in it's path, as well.

You know what my favorite sleep oil is now....the blend called Surrender. Look at the oils in it and you'll see why.

Had a great trip out to the Idaho farm earlier this month. It was quite impressive and so beautiful. Gary spent the whole afternoon talking to us and answering questions. They had just flown in from securing the new farm in Canada. Now, this week a new one in Serbia to grow Helichrysum and yarrow.

I see God working fast in the company and through all of us right now.

With an average of 60,000 new distributors being led to us each month, He is ready to change the way healing takes place on this earth, I do believe.

Huh. 60,000 new distributors every month. I have about 600 or so MLM people on my Facebook, get emails and newsletter from several different MLM writers, have never heard of this company. When I get a chance I'll start looking around at it.

The whole essential oil thing is hardly new, been around for awhile, in and out of MLMs. Used in naturotherapy and aromatherapy. Have heard a good amount of claims of things they can do with it but hadn't heard of it curing skin cancer before. Of course, it may not have been a malignant cancer either, without an actual doctors report no way to know. And it is possible to use a topical treatment to cure skin infections or other topical ailments. A good friend of mine goes through dialysis daily and had some pretty aggressive infections around her IV points. Using Aloe Vera squeezed from the leaf pretty much cured them and healed the area around the IVs so oils can be used for treatments.

I find it hard to accept the 60,000 monthly figure as well.

Any contribution to the discussion will be appreciated.

I looked around a bit but found little on it; the most helpful being what is posted here on Quatloos.

In addition to Anita Hand mentioned earlier, Charles appears also to be impressed with Leesa Yates Black.

I noticed this from Leesa back in April:

YLEO is pretty much quackery from top to bottom. Every bit of their propaganda is questionable; recommending the ingestion of "essential" oils (essential to what?), skin application diluted or not. "Dr." Young's history is well known and those who have looked at his legendary past have found it full of holes of what he says and what the reality was. One of his mottos is that "hope is a molecule" (oh, really?). This organization is one of the more aggressive, pernicious, self-absorbed and twisted amalgams of false health teaching and greedy entrepreneurial activity out there, and I personally like herbal oils as an alternative to disgusting "Glade" and other commercial products. It all has to do with proportionality, if a little is good then a lot must be better, right? No, you can do irreparable damage to your organs with "essential" oils. Their products are way too expensive as well. Maybe Young's oils would be better than the oils the whorehouse madam usually distributes to her strumpets for massage?

10mL of Frankincense Oil on sale for $11.93 on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Frankincense-Esse ... B005V4ZOT2
15mL of Frankincense Oil for $94.41 through YLEO.
http://www.yleo.org/en_US/products/esse ... ential-oil

I'm sure a distributor could argue all day long about pureness, quality of manufacturing, etc. but that's a huge price difference and that's pretty typical in a MLM. You can order straight through the main website. http://www.yleo.org/en_US or you can order through a distributor. According to their compensation plan http://youngliving.cdn.cymbeo.com/f/69r ... kdy_r3.pdf if you have less then $100 in volume per month you make nothing at all. Nothing that I've seen about an autoship or monthly fees. I have the feeling there's more to the plan that I can't find. It feels like it would have an autoship.

On looking at the founder's, Dr. Gary Young, background I found this article:
http://www.jonnsaromatherapy.com/pdf/Br ... g_2013.pdf

Let me quote something for you:
Young’s writings convinced me that the man had no business claiming to be an authority on essential oils, and I decided to investigate his background. He claims to have discovered the healing powers of essential oils after he was allegedly left “paralyzed for life” by a head injury. He claims to have discovered an essential oil cure for this supposed paralysis, but has never provided documentation of either the injury or his miraculous cure.

By the early 1980’s Young had moved to Spokane, Washington. Although he lacked any training in medicine, obstetrics, or midwifery, he insisted on delivering his first wife’s baby underwater in a whirlpool bath. He left the healthy baby under water for an hour. The otherwise normal healthy infant drowned.

Young claims that he subsequently operated a clinic in Mexico that treated cancer patients with laetrile. Laetrile is a useless and dangerous drug that can harm or kill people because it forms cyanide in the body. It is illegal, and it is something of which Young should be ashamed, rather than proud.

From Mexico, Young moved to California and opened a clinic offering supposed treatments for cancer and other illnesses. He claimed falsely at that time to be an M.D. He was arrested in California in 1988 for a variety of charges related to the sale of ineffective and worthless medical treatments.

Young then returned to the Spokane area. He was arrested on January 10, 1994 for assaulting several family members with an axe. This behavior is from a man who claims to be deeply religious and spiritual.
Another article.
http://www.utahstories.com/2012/02/mult ... ar-fields/
No medical records exist of his early paralysis and miraculous healing. In 1983 he was arrested in Spokane, WA for practicing medicine without a license, and again arrested in 1988 in California for deceptive advertising.

There were always rumors. For instance, that Young’s wife deceptively received successful in vitro fertilization treatments in order to convince their two young sons to then scam barren women into believing YLEO products could help them conceive children well into their middle age.

In 2005, Young closed the clinic due to pending lawsuits, however his prescription for health paired with a connection to the abundance of positive thinking successfully continues to bring in millions of dollars per year from both domestic and international distributors.
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/money/5666 ... t.html.csp
Two Utah companies that sell therapeutic oils with purported healthy properties are suing each other, alleging the theft of trade secrets, faked lab tests, false advertising and "pure" products contaminated with unnatural substances.

Young Living Essential Oils of Lehi and upstart competitor doTERRA of Orem have filed dueling lawsuits in state and federal courts, setting up an intense legal battle between companies that take in tens of millions of dollars in annual revenues from the sale of rival products.
DoTERRA was formed in 2008 by a fired chief operating officer of Young Living, David N. Sterling, and other former executives, top employees and distributors.
I would be pretty questionable about not only the product, but the companies ethics and longevity. I can find no source confirming that Young has any type of medical training and much to say he doesn't. I could not find anything to directly cite the crimes he has been alleged to commit but found cites all over the internet. The mere fact he has had legal action in 3 different states, even if he was cleared of any wrongdoing, means there is something there that is not normal, even for a MLM. Usually the first time they run into trouble is the SEC coming down on them.

And your research on the prices they sell their "precious", low temperature extracted oils from pristine farms really shows how ridiculous their operation is. Why would anyone be willing to pay prices that are multiples of the alternatives that are as good as they offer? If you can get certified organic or biodynamic products, which I don't remember "Young's" claiming, you are better off as well. Or maybe people choose YLEO because of their miracle "blends"? Do it yourself but be sure to dilute because even stuff applied to the skin can cause toxic reactions. There are parts of the country where the new fad is to "wear" a special essential oil or oil blend. But there are workplace and building rules against overly odiferous perfumes and fragrances.

Thanks for all the references and comments.

It makes me wonder how the case of Charles Pledge and his disabled wife is going to turn out regarding the YLEO use and promotion.

Coincidentally, Charles just posted another note in response to a note from another of his YLEO connections, Leesa Yates Black.

Leesa: https://www.facebook.com/jeleeblack

others from the path I've been down. I've asked God
for healing so I could help others be all they want to
be too! I pray you and Wanda continue to improve
and Anita and I both are always here for you! That

Leesa, My Genie in a bottle, because you introduced me
to the oils I feel a special indebtedness to you because
you probably was my one link to the oils during my
lifetime, and you "accidentally" came along and lo, I
wanted to try them. Both of you have helped me learn
and get direction. Thanks again. Mary, we think of you
guys every day. Sure hope Wanda gets well enough to
make one more trip to Wyoming.

Not sure if you caught it, but with great sadness I must report that D Gary Young (or "fake" Dr. Gary Young as he preferred to be called), recently decided to take a dirt nap and stop using up valuable oxygen resources on this planet.

A team of 8 Clydesdales hauled Gary's oily corpse to its final resting spot.

There must be a lot of crap in that hearse if it needs eight Clydesdales to pull it.

Wiki says
In 2014 while Young was chief executive officer (CEO) of Young Living, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned him and his company about illegally marketing products that had not been FDA approved as possible treatments or cures for Ebola virus,[9] and other diseases, including "Parkinson’s disease, autism, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, insomnia, heart disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, dementia, and multiple sclerosis, that are not amenable to self-diagnosis and treatment by individuals who are not medical practitioners."
and also
Young died on May 12, 2018, in Salt Lake City due to complications from a series of strokes.
He must have missed "strokes" off the list of curable ailments, what an oversight.

Well, you know MLM'ers - go big or go home.

They were probably going to do a simple cremation, but were worried about flare-up from all the oil in the guys body.

My family has been raising heavy draft (belgians) since Jesus was a Lance Corporal so the theoretical pull ability of a team is surprisingly easy to calculate. It takes just under 28 feet distance for a horse to reach maximum strength and after that they're just rolling. One horse can pull twice its own weight of a stoneboat (weighted skid). A trained team of two horses working together can pull 2.5 to 3 times their own total weight. So let us do the math - 8 horses X 1500 pounds (from the picture they look small) X 2 equals 24000 pounds assuming you have a useless team who aren't helping each other.

As an aside, in my misspent youth and to show off, I once used a team of two belgians to haul one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Carrier five miles through the bush to a road. It hadn't been moved for 25 years.
