Now you've said that I tried to check where I got my info from but so far can only find records of him having a heart attack mid 2012. That's where I thought it was said he was about 80 but I can't find any details now.
I now think he was more like 70ish. I think I have a source that implies he was 65 in 2009.

How much you want to bet he thought all the medical advice he got about his heart condition wouldn't matter because with NESARA hed have access to new alien technologies where things like diet, exercise, and peer reviewed medicine would not matter? And since NESARA would be around the corner every day for him, he could just ignore all of it.

Not him, but there was one regular Dinaridgit/CMMXer who was putting off major heart surgery waiting for the RV or the "Fines and Penalties" from the CMMX scam to come through, I don't know whether he died but I do remember a rather dramatic episode of him going to the hospital. One of his friends went and got him because he was pretty remote from any health care and it was going to cost several hundred dollars for an ambulance to take him.

John's Online Legacy

Greetings Everyone~
I wish to continue and maintain nesaranews and nesaranetwork in honor of John Machaffie who was a good friend and a true patriot to many of us. We have a crew of good patriots and friends who I imagine feel the same and will stay on board by keeping the news and hopes posted. The future of these sites is ultimately up to John's son John Glenn Machaffie.

Posted as the banner, includes a bio from 2009.

In Memory of John Machaffie:

Someone said he was a true patriot to his cause.
Someone said he had a fierce passion for the truth.
Someone seen him as a great leader and had a heart for helping people.
Some loved his spirit for which he had as a warrior for what was right.
Some never read his posts but when they saw his name felt a reverence for him.
Some disagreed with him but many respected & called him friend
~~~
Some did not believe in NESARA but believed in John and believed that he wanted the best for all
Some had never heard of him but many will miss him
Some didn’t always agree with him on everything, but loved his spirit and dedication to “the good fight”.
Someone described John MacHaffie as a SUPER Patriot, a leader by example, a doer, wanting to help others, a listener, an achiever. He was a friend they had never met in person
In John’s own words, he describes himself. I think this is a great way to remember dear Johnnie:
“This is my real name for one. I am not going to hide under a false alias.
A wee bit about myself. I am a 65 yr old but feel like a 22 yr kid who has been following Nesara for the last couple of years. And now RAP for the last 6 months.
My background is as an aerospace engineer – One of my designs is on the moon per Apollo 11 and I was also involved on the shuttle. I am a trekkie!
I also worked in project management and spent 7 years overseas in SE Asia, lived 3 years in paradise, Thailand, doing power plants installations.
Live 8 years overseas in SE Asia and conversant in 3 Asian languages.
Also spent some time with the Navy.
I LOVE OUR LORD and believe this NESARA, RESTORE REPUBLIC and GALACTICS are some of HIS doing.
I am very honest and tell it like it is.
My personal goal is to Help the world and America in its restoration. GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN!
I am a straight shooter and figured time for the REAL TRUTH to come out!
I GIVE CREDIT FOR THE SUCCESS — TO THE DIVINE INTERVENTION THAT IS ON OUR SIDE!
I remember when John Wayne "Duke" MacHaffie first started Nesara News he made all sorts of claims about what he had engineered. Someone here pointed out the inconsistencies of the projects and contractors. As for using his real name, the "Wayne" part seems to be a bit suspect as the 2009 judgement against him for unpaid taxes shows his middle initial as "C" (below).
The Court awards judgment in favor of the United States and against John C. McHaffie in the amount of $391,923.31, with additional interest accruing after July 22, 2009 until the date of payment as provided by law.
Wait - Johnny owed almost $400k in back taxes? How many years did that cover?
That sort of thing makes me wonder - was MacHaffie gullible and did he actually believe all this stuff or did he figure out he could cater to the NESARA/RV crowd via the blog and make some good money through donations?
If he made enough money to owe $400k in taxes he had a good business sense. I guess we'll never know...but certainly his son seems to have figured it out. It is a really good con if you can get it - just reblog a bunch of stuff promising General Ham will take over soon/the RV is today and the donations roll in.
NESARA true believers have started making up conspiracies around Johns death - just as expected. On one of the RV calls I listen to for giggles the host mused for several minutes about how it was just "so strange" that John was doing well and then only died after going into surgery for a second time.
Of course, the doctors were in on it - John had to be silenced to stop NESARA/RV! So they made the doctors recommend a pacemaker that he didn't need in order to kill him off!
It could never be that the doctors knew he wouldn't survive long without a pacemaker and that the surgery was an acceptable risk given the personal health circumstances of John that we have no way of knowing. Nope, it must be a conspiracy by The Dark Cabal to stop NESARA>
Not necessarily. John may have had a job that had a pension fund or a similar IRA-based plan that he had to contribute to while he was working. If it was a plan that allowed for the taxes to be deferred on that portion until after he retired, it may be that John failed to pay the taxes when he withdrew the funds.
In honor of the departure, from this mortal coil, of the immortal John MacHaffie, I offer the following necessary revision of the song dedicated to him:
RV John,
What's that tinfoil you have on?
Could it be your spirit’s clothes from days gone by?
And did I hear you say
Your ghost was meeting them here today
To take them to your RV in the sky
He's 41 and everyone calls him Tommy
He's single and he still lives with his Mommy.
But he thinks he'll soon go very, very far
'cause Iraq will soon revalue its dinar.
All his life he's worked as a lowly chicken plucker
All the grifters know that he's a stupid moth... er, sucker
for every two-bit hustle, scam and con.
Just as soon as he saves money, it is gone.
Then Tommy listened to a man named John MacHaffie.
All the folks 'round Brownsville think he's daffy
to buy dinars and then hide them 'neath his lawn
‘cause they know his fortune is as dead as John.
Can you do that? Take money out of an IRA based fund without taxes automatically taken off? I ask because Canada has what I think is an equivalent tax-deferred plan, the RRSP (registered retirement savings plan). Within limits determined by income you can put money in the plans and claim it as a tax deduction. The earnings in the plan are tax free while they remain there and are taxed on withdrawl. As an example I put about $1,500 in a plan in 1973 and left it. It is now worth about ten times that, all taxable when I take it out. The plans are administered by financial institutions (most of mine are in the Vancouver City Credit Union) and, when you withdraw any or all of it, they automatically take taxes off at source and remit them to the Federal Government on your behalf. So it is impossible to take it out and not pay tax.
I suppose it is always possible that he told them he was doing a transfer, got a check from the trustee, and then just cashed it, sounds like something John would have done, and would thus have incurred a maximum tax penalty and tax on the funds he got, which he undoubtedly never paid, or he may have taken a distribution or loan from the fund that he never paid back which could trigger the taxes.
It is indeed possible to take a distribution from a 401(k) savings plan, without withholding for taxes, on the premise that the money will then be deposited into an IRA within 60 days after receipt of the funds. Back when I was dealing with 401(k) plans on a regular basis, I could not overtly advise people to avoid indirect rollovers and to choose a direct rollover (in which the rollover check is made payable to a new custodian, so that even if the individual receives a rollover check there is no constructive receipt of the funds). My experience showed that, once the indirect rollover distribution check reached the owner, they quite often salivated at having a chunk of money with which to pay bills/fix up the house/take a vacation/visit a casino/do something else to fritter away the money; and suddenly the 401(k) proceeds are gone.
Taxes? I'll worry about that later.... Penalty? Well, I'm not writing out a check to pay it, so it isn't a reality to me.
For what its worth, my plan, when I make a withdrawal, just has a box for "check here to withhold 10%' and another for "check here to withhold another amount" followed by "check here to receive entire amount", or something substantially the same.
In my line of work, I have seen it happen all too often.
One thing to remember about these IRA plans is that individuals are not required to start using the money until they reach age 70 and 6 months. So even if a person retires at age 59 and takes their IRA plan from work with them, they have the option of rolling it over into another IRA if their intent is to wait until the mandatory age.
Like Pottapaug pointed out, the temptation is too strong for some at that point to resist.
From comments made when MacHaffie started NESARA News I believe he was a tax protester, but I don't know the real story. I figure the sum could have been taxes and fines for a fair number of years for both him and his "businesses?"
Hmmm... That would have made John Cornelius 21 years old when Apollo 11 landed, and given that the equipment on board was all designed years before, would have made him designing his design when he was in High School! Amazing!
Can't do that in Canada. If you want to change RRSP funds you have to have the financial institution transfer the funds directly without your getting access to the money. If you take it out yourself to put it in another fund the financial institution will keep the tax and give you the net since this is considered a withdrawl. People make this mistake all the time then go to Tax Court to get the taxes back on the basis it was just a transfer between funds. Tough, the law is very clear about it. Any money coming out of an RRSP for any reason is immediately taxable with taxes taken at source.
I happen to have a book about Apollo that has all kinds of nitty gritty details, specifically, the Lunar Module was shipped to Kennedy Space Center in January of 1969, the Saturn V rocket was assembled through April of 1969..etc.. great book for reference porn, one of my things.
Anwho, another excellent book about the moon project is by Thomas Kelley who was the Chief Engineer of the LEM, and who didn't work for NASA at all, he worked for Grumman. A vast majority of the people who worked on these projects worked for the contractors, not NASA. Kelley says in his book that the final LEM design was "locked" in Febuary of 1965, then after the Command Module fire that killed 3 in Apollo 1 was re-opened for revision and then finally done for good in September of 1967, by which time the spacecraft that eventually became the Eagle of Apollo 11 was actually about half built, as were the ones that became Apollo 9, 10, 12 and 13.
There is no mention of John anywhere in any of my fairly extensive library about the Apollo project, and I'm shocked I tell you.
You expect that geniuses like McHaffie and Erasmus are going to show up in some dumb technical NASA manual? The obvious explanation is that the geeks at NASA were so embarrassed how they were consistently blown away by the genius of these two guys that they all conspired together to make sure that all references to Rassy and John were eliminated from any and all NASA documents, media and publications.
