Great, so now I'm pink
As you'll note I'm now a Quatloos moderator. A quasi-moderator in training on probation. All the big boys get to be green but we interns are apparently pink. One day, one day, I'll grab that brass ring and, like unpolished brass, I'll turn green. Or is that copper I'm thinking about? My mother's brass always turned black. Never mind, you get the idea.

Yup Manly. Like the manliest street in Vancouver. Which makes liberal use of the same manly colour.

Personally, i was a little jealous that your name is now in pink. I like pink a lot better than green.
How about changing those of us with moderator rank to fuscia? Or bright purple? Or aqua? Basically any color that would be found on a parrot, or a Miami Vice tshirt.

I get access to the Moderator's lounge. Sadly no VIP washroom or open bar. I only accepted the job under the illusion that it was like the airline's VIP lounge. Life is filled with bitter disappointments.LordEd wrote:Do you get access to the executive washroom now?

Actually now that I've had it a while I'm getting use to it. Distinctive, stands out proud, like the Manliest Man standing tall in the Manliest street in Vancouver! Whichever that street is. Certainly not the one your dedicated poster and quasi-moderator PinkyPink49 lives on.grixit wrote:Personally, i was a little jealous that your name is now in pink. Hmmm. Shouldn't this thread be moved to the "About Quatloos" forum?
Just asking....

Re: Great, so now I'm pink
There's an "About Quatloos" Forum? Shouldn't any competent mod know that? Looks like I've been given a homework assignment.

Do the moderators in this forum ever have to do any moderating? I tend to keep in here, but it seems generally tame with the sovereign crowd generally afraid to come in.
Everything in moderation, including moderating?

Re: Great, so now I'm pink
I'm not aware that moderating has been required in the Canadian or British/Australia/New Zealand topics. We colonials are generally a polite bunch. They have problems in the US sections occasionally with people like the village idiot PatriotDiscussion but the only Freeman advocate who posts on the Canadian discussions is ninja and he's always been well within the range of acceptable comment. Except for that Santos joke and I wasn't a moderator when he inflicted that one on us. I've got my eye on him. Santos Claus indeed!LordEd wrote:Do the moderators in this forum ever have to do any moderating? We did have Belanger participating with demented rants for a while under the alias "cudgel" when we started reporting on the antics of his meal-ticket Thomas Peterson. Had I moderated back then I wouldn't have touched them, they were great for showing possible Belanger followers what a clown he was. Didn't stop the Volks though.
Not my fault the sovereign types don't participate. I've invited them often enough. Menard is always welcome to join in and ream me out for all my lies and defamations.

He (probably) fled BC so his antics wouldn't be subject to a Burnaby live court visit. I doubt he'll come within reach of the pink arm of the law.

Locked 1 thread; which another moderator undid.
Redacted personal information in one post.
Merged two threads.
Deleted one spam post.
Of course i am just a general moderator with access in just a few boards. But i think maybe 3 or 4 admins have done up to 5 times as much as i have done and Webhick has maybe done 10 times as much so yeah, this is a well behaved and gently moderated forum-- a refreshing contrast with others.

Re: Great, so now I'm pink
I've yearned to attend a Menard criminal hearing for years. I've reported on the fluff and small fry but Rob's the Big Dog. So I'll admit it, I was hurt when he abandoned me to go and commit a criminal offense elsewhere. Then he made me search for the information about it rather than PM'ing me, you know, BFF to BFF. It's like I'm nothing to him.LordEd wrote:He (probably) fled BC so his antics wouldn't be subject to a Burnaby live court visit. I doubt he'll come within reach of the pink arm of the law.
I'll bet the Chief spurns me next week too.
