Still okay for me, with browser or "ping www.werebank.co.uk". I suspect a localised internet problem. Or maybe I'm the last person on Earth to have a connection to werebank.co.uk. Perhaps I'll never see it again. Ah well, goodbye WeRe. It was fun while it lasted.

You needed to leave off the www when doing the check. Traceroute and ping failed. Lookup brought up the registration details unchanged from before.

Site's down for me and ditto says downforeveryoneorjustme.com/werebank.co.uk

Which could be one of many things:
  • 1: Service provider issue
  • 2: Core dns issue
  • 3: UK regulatory body issued an order that people in the UK aren't allowed to access the site ;)
  • 4: other
  • 5: all of the above
I'm in Canada and can get to the site just fine..... pity. :snicker:

A few people have started to think about their credit files and for them and for each and every other person that has issued one of this fraudulent cheques I have some bad news

It isn't your credit rating you have to worry about in terms of your credit file, it is the CIFAS record that which ever bank, credit card provider etc will record on your credit file. This will have serious implications on everything you need credit for, even mobile phones.

https://www.cifas.org.uk/

Whilst you cannot be "officially" declined for credit because of a CIFAS marker, of course it does happen and even if you are accepted or for that matter already have credit, such as a mortgage or credit card, don't be surprised if you receive a nice letter informing you that your interest rate is going up (this will happen with a mortgage when the persons current interest rate product comes to an end)

I can say only one thing....YOU ARE ALL GOVERNMENT SHILLS WHO ARE BEING PAID TO POST HERE!!!!!!

Just done a port scan....
Scanning ports on 94.196.253.51

The highlighted ports suggest it has certainly gone bye-bye which means either the site has been closed by THE POWERS THAT BE™ or Poe has nuked the site in its entirety for reasons the nature of which I couldn't possibly speculate upon.

Incidentally... Having been very drunk for the last <mumblemumble> hours I have to report I've been calling the 'clearance hotline' number since about 4pm and all I get is "The T-mobile customer you are calling is not available at the moment PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP". You would think an international banking institution of repute like the WeeWee bank would be 24/7 wouldn't you?

Interesting, I just tried again and can no longer reach the site. Perhaps DNS routers were in the process of removing the site earlier.
