I love it, invent your own (illegal fraud)bank, invent your own (equally worthless)currency, start passing them(defrauding merchants as you go), then when the banks refuse to play invent your own fantasy check clearing function that nobody but you can use to clear through, priceless(literally). Declare victory, and eventually go to jail. Yup, sounds like a real winning and cunning plan.

Really really stupid, and takes really stupid to do something like that with the tax man. Nothing like painting a bullseye on yourself and saying come and get me.

Yes, remember the stupid, gullible and desperate are Peter's target market for his con. In a couple of weeks, no doubt after Kirsty's spent her housing benefit on something that's not housing (because she's got more fake cheques to send off for the next load of rent) she'll get a demand telling her she is in arrears. She will also be told that her cheque was refused and didn't clear.

That could put Kirsty in a very bad position. If she gets evicted for non-payment of rent, that is very serious, the council will view that as intentionally making yourself homeless, in which case they have no duty to rehouse you (unlike if you are evicted through no fault of your own).

Of course Kirsty won't experience any of these repercussions until months from now, due to the speed the courts work at. Sadly Kirsty and her housing association will both be victims of Peter. It's a shame and I cannot fathom why the long arm of the law hasn't caught up with him yet.

Jimmy would also have made a thread over on GOODF to ask what he should do next. Plus I imagine he's still trying to 'lose' his name.

GOOFer Freeman16 stands tall in the stirrups and waves the rallying flag:
I would regard Peter as a hero and great innovator and a great humanitarian.

I would regard him as an intellectual Spartacus of our times.

I would be proud to have stood with him and all the others who had the courage and insight to stand up for justice, (whatever the personal consequence).

Spartacus did not fail, they all died as free men, not slaves on their knees. That is victory.
Brings tears to the eyes.

I have been thinking about the lack or shortage of checkbooks and the delay new members schmucks are having in receiving books and where Peter had the idea of people in possession of a cheque book should share with friends.
Then I went back to this
by bertiebert » Tue May 05, 2015 6:39 pm

if it was a scam, it wouldn't be a very good one would it? lets say 50 people join up and go the whole hog, thats £10 a month, and £25 for a chequebook and allonges...they write a couple of cheques out, its only going to take at most 10 days or so to know if all is well.. if its not,, then you cancell the £10 monthly ,, and at most you lost £35,,

it wont take long to get around it doesnt work,, etc,, if I was going to do a scam, I would make people wait a year or more before receiving their cheque books,,,
. And on that note, I am off to see Mark Knopfler.

Actually 6000 of them died by being crucified, an especially horrific way to go as it involved being nailed to a wooden cross and left to suffer a slow painful death, while possibly being eaten alive by carrion feeders.

I'd sooner take inspiration from a rebel leader who won. Like Han Solo or Chewbacca.

"Plutarch, Appian and Florus all claim that Spartacus died during the battle, but Appian also reports that his body was never found..." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartacus

Until Alpine climbers dislodged a glacial boulder in 1957, causing Spartacus to thaw from his 2,000 year hibernation and set off to England to resume his noble revolt....

I wonder if there was an undercover Serious Fraud Office investigator at PoEs meeting today? :snicker:
