I think they are trying to put a brave face on things. A lot has hit their site simultaneously these last few months.
But it may also be a case of trying to give the appearance that they are simply a harmless pair of clowns who wouldn't ever have anything to do with massive con trick like WeRe bank or the brains to do it.
I don't think the authorities will be fooled. Clowns they are, harmless they are not and Mark Haining Ceylon and his site getoutofdebtfree.org has promoted the con from day one and as we know, he in this up to his neck.

Ceylon has posted this

Given the opportunity

It has to be said that CaRT were given that opportunity to settle the matter before the action was started. Mr Ravenscroft offered to refrain from filing his action if CaRT agreed that they were wrong, returned his boat, and refunded his costs.

Leigh wrote a ‘letter before action' on 4th May to CaRT's solicitors, Shoosmiths, pointing out that the Trust was not empowered to seize his boat and demand money before returning it. He suggested that CaRT returned his boat and all sums of money given under duress adding ‘I would then refrain from taking any further action against you and your client regardless of my feelings in the matter'.

A little bit misleading as after paying to get it back, Leigh had his boat returned and was selling it on facebook

Remember the guy with the boat, turns out he paid to get it back :haha:

Looks like after paying to get his boat back, Leigh doesn't want it anymore and is selling up

Yes, but the underlying story of the Canal & River Trust behaving oppressively is a valid one.

213. BWB have never advanced any argument based on necessity by reason of threat to, or obstruction of, safe navigation. They have asserted a right, but they have been less forthcoming as to why its exercise is pressing or necessary for the purposes of discharging their designated functions. There is little to weigh in their favour in the scales of proportionality. My provisional view is that the purported use of the draconian power conferred by section 8, without prior warning and in the absence of any identified and real threat or obstruction to safe navigation, with the effect of depriving the Claimant of his home, is not proportionate.

Whether this applies to Leigh Ravenscroft, I cannot say.

Was Leigh living on the boat ?

In the video posted by Ceylon the Police Officer makes references to notices that had been stuck onto the boat - so Leigh also had prior notice

Interesting - as a (not perfect) parallel, what would happen to an untaxed motorhome left parked in a lay-by?

I don't know anything about the case other then what I've read, but I gather the crux of it is some ancient principle called Riparian Rights. Basically if you own a section of riverfront, then subject to various complications you can moor boats there as you wish (or permit others to do so).

The waterways authority doesn't approve of this, and is trying to impose a tax-everything-that-floats policy. They are pursuing this aggressively, and prepared to spend a lot of (other people's) money fighting cases to the bitter end.

Nigel Moore took them on single-handed without any legal representation, and won a fantastic victory through the proper process. I think he's a plucky British hero, defending the principle that except where prohibited by law every Englishman can do as he likes with his time, money and property.

I don't think he has been in the driving seat in his whole life! That probably explains a lot.
I am sure it must simply be coincidence but I see Haining is in the driving seat in the latest video albeit his mate, KAK still does all the talking. He says "We, me, them, us could make a million of these videos". I don't doubt it although I might challenge the suggestion that they are "constantly creative" because once again the act largely consists of nonsensical etymological gymnastics and barely intelligible new age bollocks. As KAK says they simply arrange the words in a different way. Often at the cost of any actual meaning.

Ceylon's role seems to be a minor one. He keeps quiet while KAK reads from his notes and speaks only when spoken to and that usually only to agree with his "partner" or feed him a transparently prearranged line. I think KAK should consider breaking up the act and going solo because as usual, Ceylon isn't adding anything substantive.

At least Mark found a role in the latest offering of complete & utter garbage as it looked like he drove to the last venue. Mark offers nothing on goofy site & next to nothing on his videos, most if not all of which is useless information.

Unless I am mistaken? Bald one is either wearing a fake tattoo sleeve or the film is reversed as it has moved to his right arm. Maybe they like the mirror image?.

Good spot. Actually the very start of the video shows the regular view before the image is reversed. Ceylon giving the illusion that he is in "control" (con - troll as John Harris would have analysed it - very appropriate).

It is clearly reversed, as can be seen by the writing on the book on the back seat, and the buttons on their shirts in the "female" style.

Surely it would have been easier just to swap seats?

Yes i was thinking along the same lines that one of Mark's hair brained schemes had caused him to lose his licence, or maybe he was disqualified due to a DR 10 Conviction as he's constantly swigging Magners at his meetings & has always stated he needs a few sherbert to deal with the corrupt system. He's such an irresponsible character & surely played a part in encouraging his son to cultivate cannabis also IMO. A deeply disturbing character who constantly appears full of anger & angst.

There is also the tigger logo on Ceylon's shirt, the item on the parcel shelf and the camera angle

These two need to find something more constructive and beneficial to do with their time. Just driving around and finding quiet spots to film themselves in the car, seems a little weird.
