The only excuse I can come up with for Tom is dementia. Tom has never acknowledged (and never denied) that Sue stopped paying the endowment and that the funds were credited to their mortgage account. I can give four different times that Tom says the endowment ended other than the time it did: 10th July 1992; 1995; 1999; April 2006.
Alternatively, according to Mark Twain, "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."

Surely with today's planes and autopilots all you really require is for them to sit in the front, relay the information to the aircraft and watch it do the driving?

Surely with today's planes and autopilots all you really require is for them to sit in the front, relay the information to the aircraft and watch it do the driving?

Sadly not, the Pilot has to interface with the aircraft to get the information in. He may fiddle with the seat stitching as the auto land does it stuff (Auto pilots use less fuel - been proven) but he still needs to be there. That is until the day someone can produce a PC that does not crash, it will happen, it is just a case of when. Pilots and fuel, run an Airline there is your main money drain, the maintenece you can sell on to a third world country for half the cost

Senility would be a convenient excuse, but I think the palpable evidence for stupidity goes back years if not decades, and I think it comes from both sides of the family in equal measure, well gallops actually.
