Re: ROY the Greenhat ( My Hero)
Roy would pick a fight with himself in an empty room given the chance.
Why he not just ask the plumber for the part and fit it himself if it was such an easy job as he states in the video?
Bloke does this for kicks. Imagine him in a work environment? "Down tools, the clocking in machine is 30 nano seconds behind my watch and my rights are being breached, I'm calling the trade union."

Re: ROY the Greenhat ( My Hero)
Good grief, he's run out of junior officials to argue with and he's picking fights with a council plumber!
Kirklees Council should operate a short-straw lottery where one of their staff is chained to Roy's gatepost every morning, so that he has a sacrificial victim to hector. Then the rest of them could get on with their work.

Roy's got them on the ropes.
Has he ever had a successful claim in any of his self inflicted interactions with the people he picks on?

Yay me!
Long-time lurker, with a morbid fascination of the FOTL idiots.
Some people might remember me from the days when Menard wasn't on the run over at JREF.
Roy certainly has "issues". The "I Can't afford a 5p washer but can waffle on for 30 minutes on my mobile" is almost painful to watch.
He could have purchased a thousand washers and spent less than he does on his mobile costs.
Point of interest: I once lived nearby to where, (I think), Roy lives.
Certainly the accent can be... interesting... but I never heard anyone say "Kirkerleez".
Kudos to the patient chap on the phone.
No way I could have kept so calm and polite.
So, a quick Hi from me. You may all now resume being more clever than I.

Welcome, from another ex-lurking JREF/ISer, you'll no doubt read a few familiar writing styles.ComfySlippers wrote:Seems I'm finally allowed to log in and post.

I'm still trying to find my library with green leather chairs, brandy and fine cigars.
I'm sure I signed up for that.

TBH I wonder if maybe this isn't a little like poking fun at the village idiot.

Where there's a blame there's a YouTube video worth 18 views and a claim worth thousands remember. There's method in Roy's madnessJoinder wrote:All for the sake of a poxy washer !

Well if we stopped poking fun at the village idiots, we'd have missed out on Guy Taylor, Tom Crawford, Jimmy Wyld, Mark Haining, Shaun Cassidy, Wesley Ahmed, Gedelhaju Ebert and so many others. They are all idiots, most from different villages to boot. It's only because of the internet that we've seen these idiots join together and share their idiocy with all and sundry, often leading to more idiocy.YiamCross wrote: From what I've seen she would have to be blind, very drunk and have no sense of smell. Re: ROY the Greenhat ( My Hero)
I would imagine most of us learnt of these people by watching their videos and getting pleasure in their antics. Watching them make endless videos full of mindless nonsense is a source of great fun. Danger does lurk when those of feeble minds or pure desperation are drawn into this world, then it becomes a problem. I have been banned from GooDF twice and enjoyed my invented personas, I have long suspected that they have several purveyors of misinformation and trolls.PeanutGallery wrote:Well if we stopped poking fun at the village idiots, we'd have missed out on Guy Taylor, Tom Crawford, Jimmy Wyld, Mark Haining, Shaun Cassidy, Wesley Ahmed, Gedelhaju Ebert and so many others. Some of the above named characters are worthy of the pen of Charles Dickens ..... how wonderful to be the black sheep son "going your own way", boasting how you have never paid a penny in income tax, possessed a driving licence , had several stays at her Majesties Pleasure etc. Then your dad goes into the light and wonders of wonder you inherit property worth between 4 to 7 million.....what do you do? spend maybe up to two years going through probate and selling property
leaving yourself worth somewhere between 2 to 4 million ? oh no you become a youtube guru WONDERFUL!.
Or you could for an investment of £50,000 go with your partner on a property buying spending spree....how generous the banking system was! Low and behold it goes tits up. Do you try to come out as intact as you can? oh no you become an internet guru! WONDERFUL AGAIN!.
Trying to analyse these people could be missing the point? there is no point! it is stupidity at its finest, they are victims of the allure of social media and video making, it brings sense to their existence and reason to their lives... again truly WONDERFUL. They miss the one small point that the troll and those who just laugh at them make up a large portion of their viewers.
It is fun too, to pour fuel on their fire , the odd word of encouragement ....a little goading....maybe a phone call to "bailiffs" when their mobile numbers have been posted. Phoning the local councils is mischief of the most delightful kind.
I hope to enjoy these people for as long as I can.
Namaste

That's why more than 250 encouraged that protest in Nottingham last weekend, 150 said they'd be attending, and yet less than 50 did.vampireLOREN wrote:They miss the one small point that the troll and those who just laugh at them make up a large portion of their viewers.
They don't realise that most of those giving them validation are in fact just goading them on for cheap entertainment.
They haven't yet figured the majority are not laughing with them, but at them.

Roy is doing quite well. Average view count on his videos is around 150. Mostly from here I'd say.
Don't give up Roy.
