Re: Robert Arthur Menard FOTL (Freeman on the Lam)
Scooty's (to use Menard's nickname) group is a bit unusual compared to most, if not all, of the other Canadian FMOTL factions, although they peddle the usual FMOTL woo with a few twists. I base this on the following observations (perhaps influenced by a few liquorish beverages since that's the only way I can handle them)Hanslune wrote:Yes sometimes a fruit salad looks and sounds better than a fruit cake. I personally wish them great luck with the bitcoin gambit I'm sure that there are no flaws in that brilliant plan.eric wrote: Menard actually sounds relatively sane in their interminable discussions over whether "legal tender" is a modified verb as Scott Duncan espouses or a simple noun. Besides, having a cynical disposition, I naturally distrust any group with an imaginary navy and a not so secret plan to take over the world in 2016 using Bitcoin technology.
1. Absolute subservience to their glorious leader is required, bowing and appropriate obeisances, although not always necessary, are generally a good idea;
2. The group is fairly hard to enter into - either you have to claim to have been a follower of Clifford or Menard and have lost faith, or you have to play some silly video game. They're not all that not interested in claiming new converts, a lot like an adolescent boys' club;
3. The level of their facebook discourse ranges from some pretty intellectual topics written at a good level to just down right potty mouth snipings at their enemies;
4. Along with an imaginary navy, they have an absolute belief in some fairly unproven technologies ranging from Bitcoin financial systems to super weapons dreamed up in basement labs using advertisements in the "Boy's Own Guide to Super Secret Computer Technology and Electronics."
I'm sorry, but they most remind me of a bunch of adolescent Star Trek fans with an interesting take on FMOTL concepts Canadian style. Although they can argue forever about the appropriate grammatical emphasis to be put on "legal tender", in the end they're just recycling the natural person versus strawman theory. If you use their arguments in the courts and inevitably lose, it's not the fault of the corrupt courts like most FMOTL followers believe, it's because you didn't provide the appropriate burnt offerings to the glorious and all powerful Scott Duncan.
The only good thing I have to say about the bunch, is that because they remind me of a closed cult, they will probably die out as their members are picked off one by one for not paying their electricity or income tax bills. Other members of Quatloos can probably comment on the effectiveness of a tax avoidance scheme whereby a customer buys an imaginary currency from a strawman and then uses said financial instrument to purchase services from the natural person.

No more lectures at freeman gatherings. Bobby pretty well killed that gig.
No more interviews on freeman web radio shows. They can't tolerate drunks.
No more adoring clients feeding fezzboy money for nothing.
No more money making scam projects. Bobby's rep is poor for that.
Just a few Facebook likes and pile of Moose Head empties.

It has been 315 days since Robert Menard announced the revival of the Association of Canadian Consumer Purchasers. So far there is no documentation of a successful purchase using Menard's system.

So what you're saying is he's too lazy, too boring, too nasty, and too unreliable even for the limited attention spans of the FOTL community? Really sucks to be Bobby when you can't even scam the FOTL'ers anymore.

Apart from that comedy club video we haven't had peep out of him since summer when he was begging for money for his toy tank. He must be doing something apart from sitting in the kitchen drinking beer but I have no idea what. Anything of significance would have bubbled to the surface somehow.

He's approaching the year anniversary of his bench warrant, isn't he?

In need of some assistance. I am currently having a heated discussion on Youtube with Menard. He is claiming that the Bench warrants for his arrest are only applicable "within 100 Km of Toronto".arayder wrote:He's got a new YouTube and a bunch of Facebook posts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtFUaGEqy3kNot if the warrant is only good for Ontario, more accurately within 100 Km of Toronto.
I called bullsh*t on this, but I need some facts to back me up.

No idea. I would assume it would be at least good for Ontario. Doesn't matter, it is still an arrest warrant and he is still on the run from it.

Suggest that if he believes that to call up the appropriate authorities, give them his address and tell them there's nothing they can do to arrest him because "he's outa their Jurisdiction".
Of course - he'll likely claim he's done just that but I seriously doubt he'd actually do it.

I find it hard to believe that a Bench warrant for Criminal Code offences is restricted to within 100km from a city.Many arrest warrants have a distance limitation on them. You revel in your ignorance and claim you act with knowledge, but you do not. The original one was only good for 100Km from Toronto.

An odd sort of thing to gloat about, that he can be arrested only within the proximity of Toronto.
If Menard wants to gloat he could go back and fight the charges. According to him he'll win.

I will tell you what. You post $20,000 held in escrow by a lawyer and I will go to Toronto in January and deal with these issues. If I win, (found not guilty of the charges) then $10,000 is given to me. If I prove I am in fact a peace officer, I get the other $10,000. If I lose, then you get it back.

Re: Robert Arthur Menard FOTL (Freeman on the Lam)
Really? Pay him $20,000 to fight his own criminal charges? I kind of like him pissing away his life freezing through another Quebec winter. Until he goes back and addresses the charges he, and his police force dream, are totally discredited and he's locked in place, he can't go forward or back. So the situation is fine by me as it is. It is entirely possible he could win on a police error or some other reason that does not establish guilt or innocence. There is no way the court is going to say he is a peace officer but Rob, go for it and make us look like fools. Perhaps after a year in his squat he's planning to go back anyhow. Perhaps he realizes that had he been convicted he'd have probably been out long ago. The Nanaimo three all got slap on the wrist sentences.

What kind of a bet is that? Where is the money Menard is putting up?I will tell you what. You post $20,000 held in escrow by a lawyer and I will go to Toronto in January and deal with these issues. That is an opinion, not a fact. Fugitives take steps to avoid justice. I have not.
fu·gi·tive
ˈfyo͞ojədiv/
noun
a person who has escaped from a place or is in hiding, especially to avoid arrest or persecution.
I have not moved since that warrant was issued. I am not hiding and I have not escaped. I am not, according to the law or standard definitions, a fugitive. You however are the very definition of a coward.
