Excellent memorymufc1959 wrote:My Christmas has already been made perfect. Nothing Santa could bring can top the gift I was just given at my local Lidl.
I was stocking up on Mini Butter Stollens and other goodies, queueing patiently at the checkout, when there was a ruckus at the next till over.
"I'm sorry, sir, we don't accept cheques."
"But you have to accept my cheque, it's legal tender!"
"I'm sorry, sir, we've never accepted cheques. Do you have a debit or credit card you'd like to pay with instead?"
"BUT THIS IS LEGAL TENDER! YOU ARE LAWFULLY OBLIGED TO ACCEPT IT IN SETTLEMENT OF MY DEBT. BY REFUSING MY CHEQUE YOU ARE IN DISHONOUR AND THE DEBT IS NOW PAID IN FULL!"
The manager came over and as the cheque was handed to him by the cashier I got a look at it. Sure enough, it was a WeRe Bank cheque.
Without success (as he was talking to the human equivalent of a brick wall) the manager tried to explain that cheques aren't legal tender and Lidl doesn't accept them anyway. At one point he referred to the man as "Mr [surname]".
"My name is copyright! How did you find out my name?" demanded the angry customer.
"Because it's written on your cheque", replied the manager.
"By using my name, you've agreed to pay me damages of £10,000, which I will accept in cash, right now!"
The ranting continued while I was going through my checkout, much to the amusement of both customers and staff. As I was handing over my payment, security arrived to escort the unhappy customer off the premises, while some poor sod had the job of putting all his shopping back (which looked to consist mostly of beer and bog roll).
I took the opportunity of having a quick word with the manager before I left to clue him in on FOTL and WeRe Bank. He'd never heard of either before, but said Lidl has never taken cheques so even if it had been from Coutts it would've been refused.
The customer looked to be in his 60s, not very bright (obviously) but bolshie and argumentative, trying to make a win out of an abject failure.

You do have an odd definition of "free". Free to hide in his girlfriend's place or an old motorhome. Free to tell people that he'll back them in court but never turn up. Free to walk the streets looking over his shoulder for the Police or disgruntled clients.Joinder wrote:Spoiler Alert !!!........Peter is STILL free.

Oh sorry, I thought the idea was that he would be in prison by now.ArthurWankspittle wrote:You do have an odd definition of "free". Free to hide in his girlfriend's place or an old motorhome. Speculation about him hiding somewhere is the thing that makes him not free now ?

He's not in prison, (yet). He is almost certainly hiding from creditors and followers.Joinder wrote:Oh sorry, I thought the idea was that he would be in prison by now.ArthurWankspittle wrote:You do have an odd definition of "free". Considering some of the messages we've seen from (former) followers, he might be safer in prison.

So he is not in prison (yet)indicates that there are criminal proceedings against him.Is that the case ?...what happened about Petey going to court, I suppose that never materialised ?
He's let me down that guy, had such high hopes for him too. Peace

It could even be possible that in the near future he might enter the brewery business, imagine bottles of WeRe Ale! or even We Re'al Ale!.

Wait, what? "His girlfriend's place"? Perhaps wrongly, but I always assumed Penis of England was Gay - or at the very least asexual.ArthurWankspittle wrote:You do have an odd definition of "free". Free to hide in his girlfriend's place or an old motorhome.

No there's a lady who has appeared several times in reports and videos accompanying Peter. There being a second party also helps explain how he manages to keep going without a bank account or PayPal account.Wake Up! Productions wrote:Wait, what? "His girlfriend's place"? I honestly don't know what your PROBLEM is, or what you have against me, or why you think that people are incapable of CHANGE.Philistine wrote:Aren't you the perfect one to do so since you fell for this nonsense yourself?
Your flawed logic leads me to think that your belief is "once a freeman, always a freeman".
Yes, admittedly, I "fell" for it. But I have also dug myself out of that hole, and have seen and embraced REALITY.
The way you that have treated me on Q is akin to telling an obese man that despite losing 200 pounds, he will always be a fat disgusting slob in your eyes. You have ZERO compassion for those who are taking steps to personally change themselves and their way of thinking.
To me, your attitude is far worse than any Freeman GURU spoken about on Q, as you are in effect PUNISHING those who are actually making an attempt to CHANGE !!! That is an unforgivable act in my eyes.

From a neutral perspective - I have no idea what's going on between you two elsewhere - I humbly suggest you've produced a strange response given the limited statement.Wake Up! Productions wrote:I honestly don't know what your PROBLEM is, or what you have against me, or why you think that people are incapable of CHANGE.Philistine wrote:Aren't you the perfect one to do so since you fell for this nonsense yourself?
From my perspective, if I was overweight and looking to loose weight - I'd rather rely on someone who has experienced being overweight and succeeded then to rely on a skinny 22 year old female who looks good in spandex but is 5'10 and has never weighed more then 110 lbs.Wake Up! Productions wrote:... is akin to telling an obese man that despite losing 200 pounds, he will always be a fat ...
Granted - she'd be much easier on the eyes, but learning from someone who has lived the experience would likely be far more beneficial.
It's in that spirit I understood Philistines suggestion.
You've been "in"... you know the language.... you have an idea how they think, what they believe, and more importantly why they believe...... you're far more likely to be successful in explaining why the path they are on will lead to failure then those of us who have never tread in those waters. Sure... we can point out the obvious - but without understanding why they don't understand what we're saying, we don't have the correct communication tools to get through to them.

There's a back story. Philistine, for reasons best known to himself, has an animus against Wake Up! So he's nattering at him on Quatloos with stupid comments like that one. Hyrion said he has no idea what is going on elsewhere but I've been seeing it on othe discussions. I'm watching and if Philistine's actions continue to appear to be aimed against Wake Up! personally instead of being actually useful contributions I'll be taking moderator action. Philistine; If you want to try to start flame wars find another venue.

I have zero interest or tolerance for personal jibes here. It's totally off-topic, like trying to start a game of poker at a funeral or check your online banking during a job interview. People who vent personal grudges here are loose cannons on the deck of our pirate ship, and they should be swiftly lashed down or thrown overboard.Hyrion wrote:From a neutral perspective - I have no idea what's going on between you two elsewhere ...

Re: Peter of England: He’s still F RE?
I would concur with the sentiment that given that Wake Up once believed in the Freeman nonsense, and now see's it as nonsense, they are better able to explain to someone else how they came to understand it was nonsense and possibly help them.
If someone like myself were to try explaining this issue, I doubt I would get very far and I also doubt I would have much of an impact. In fact it might be counter productive, because it's been my experience that those who go down the fmotl path tend to believe that their is a grand and global conspiracy against them by an elite cabal. Their is also a belief that posters such as myself are paid agents of the state or actors for this conspiracy who set out to sow misinformation.
The truth is we aren't and their isn't. A lot of companies do pretty shitty things but they do get found out, look at Volkswagen (which I don't think was an isolated incident, given the amount of times I've encountered an attitude of not caring about the quality of the work, so long as the paperworks ok in working environments). But a lot of people do shitty things too and all of the shitty things a company may do is pretty much because they had a shitty person in charge.
In regard to Wake Up as well I would say this I have a great deal of respect and admiration for those who can and who do openly admit when they have been mistaken and who take steps to help others not fall into the same folly. I think the mark of intelligence is not simply being right, but being aware enough to realise when you are wrong. We all make mistakes in life and it's how we deal with those that defines us as a person.
