Maybe a chemist here can help me out here, but can these two chemicals even be put into a gaseous state or we just talking about fumes? Also, the gas would have to be contained to the cell, right? Wouldn't the wide open space between the bars kind of facilitate gassing the entire cell block and not just Ed?

Another thing, I recently knew someone who had a boyfriend on the inside. According to what I know of the system, an inmate can't just call anyone they damned well feel like it. The receiving party has to be cleared through some kind of check and the inmate is only allowed to dial numbers that have been cleared. It's like a $1.43/minute with the receiving party footing the bill.

May not be that way where Ed's staying, but I call bullshit on this Ed torture business. (Like I'm sure all of you did while reading Demo's post).

hello everyone i filed a FOIA request for info on ed and elaine with the us marshalls service here is what they sen me....i was trying to obtain mugshots...you need permission for them from the inmates...and yes ed was just on wtprn.com and they will replay the interview later it was 8 minutes or so long before he was cutoff....he says it was someone named dutch that was a fed and set him up through sean. sean is the one that did the interview by calling the prison and saying he was working for lawyers... ed said he thought sean may have helped set him up and if he didnt he would post the interview on the net right away!! which he apparently did!!

so i wrote to the marshalls service the other day to request the browns mugshots and while i was at it i also requested any info on them which is publicly releasable under the FOIA . i got an email back today...three of them actually...one denying my request for the mugshots without their permission...apparently they are not public info and to get them you have to have signed permission from the inmate themselves....which i am trying to do this week but i dont think they are getting mail yet....grrrr...and the other 2 emails were the releasable info on each of them. there isnt much but here it all isfor those of you interested....

First, why would they use these compounds? Were they stripping paint or is there a dry cleaners in Ed's cell? And if they were there should be an investigation since neither is no used for such that I know of. What's nice about Toluene is it extends the drying time of laquer for that smooth polished black shine that goes so well with Ralph Nagel prints and Duran-Duran LPs. You can buy it at your local hardware store.

It sounds like Shaun Kranish was the one who set him up, because "Dutch" was actually one of the Marshals.

Kranish pretended to be an attorney in order to get through to Ed, and he used a false last name ("Allen"). He claims he never actually told them he was an attorney, but that he was working with an attorney, and also said he wasn't lying because he is looking for an attorney.

I find it very hard to believe that he didn't tell them he is an attorney, because federal prisons are extremely strict about inmates receiving phone calls. Interestingly, there are two attorneys on Martindale with the name he gave. Did Kranish get those attorneys' information online, then misrepresent himself as one of them? That would be my guess.

Can't Kranish be prosecuted for misrepresenting himself as an attorney? If so, he should be. The prison system can't have people calling and pretending to be an attorney, because real attorneys have a legitimate need to get in touch with their clients. This kind of problem needs to be nipped in the bud. Once the prison finds out what happened, Ed's going to be in trouble for it.

Ed said he was put in a deprivation tank which "causes permanent damage". I pictured "Altered States" when he said that, but I'm sure they probably just put him in solitary to shut him up, since he said they took his clothing. Insofar as the gas, there are a lot of very strange smells in any prison. That it was poisonous is probably just his paranoia acting up again.

Definitely not a deprivation tank. He was put in an isolated cell. to be observed as a new prisoner.

As for being gassed, it was probably the fumes from disinfectant and cleaning supplies.
