No offense intended to the Alice Echo News, or to Cirino's family, but this is entirely consistent.

Part of the essence of being an anti-government wacko is to start at the bottom -- and then work your way down.

Having worked as a reporter right out of college, I had it drilled into me that no story could run without two independent sources. I imagine the paper in question can't find two independent sources of this "nationwide support."
