BCG posters are outraged at a BBC proposal to simply deduct the TV licence fee from everyone's bank account, without even knowing if that person has a TV.
Yeah, it would be outrageous. The cited article does almost seem genuine. The other "Latest Posts" on that page include:

The problem with satire is that sometimes you really can't tell it from reality, or it makes more sense than reality.
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.

That's what made "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart so much fun. He made so much more sense than the people he was lampooning.notorial dissent wrote:The problem with satire is that sometimes you really can't tell it from reality, or it makes more sense than reality.

Re: Random Freemanesque Babblings from idiots unable to sustain their own thread
Tiggy and Faljay are misleading folk about assignments. For example, Listacabe5 received a notice of assignment supposedly from both parties to the assignment in one envelope. Tiggy explains this:
LOPA 1925 s136:
In fact, notices of assignment usually come from the assignee because the assignee wants future payments to go to them, not the original creditor.
Tiggy is wrong.Tiggy wrote:It means Lowell have sent you both notices of assignment, one is supposed to come from Vodaphone (assignor) the other from the assignee (Lowell). The problem Lowell has is that any notice of assignment under Sction 136 of the Law of Property Act 1925, the notice of assignment has to come 'under the hand of the assignor), clearly this hasn't.
Faljay invents whatever laws he wants, so I'll ignore that. Tiggy has previously quoted this law, and misunderstood it. It does NOT say the notice has to be "under the hand of the assignor". Nor does it say who has to send it.Faljay wrote:A Notice of Assignment must be made under the hand of the Assignor and under Section 136 of the Law of Property Act 1925, as Tiggy pointed out, which means either the Original Creditor/Contractor, sends one to you, or the DCA, with the permission of the OC.
LOPA 1925 s136:
The "absolute assignment" itself (aka Deed of Assignment) must be "under the hand of the assignor". And written notice must be given to the debtor. But the act is silent on who has to write the notice. It could be from anyone, even Father Christmas, and LOPA 1925 s136 would be satisfied.Any absolute assignment by writing under the hand of the assignor (not purporting to be by way of charge only) of any debt or other legal thing in action, of which express notice in writing has been given to the debtor, trustee or other person from whom the assignor would have been entitled to claim such debt or thing in action, is effectual in law ...
In fact, notices of assignment usually come from the assignee because the assignee wants future payments to go to them, not the original creditor.

Paragrapgh 6 and 7 may be of interest to any wannabe 'paralegals' watching6. The credit agreement provided by clauses 1(1) and 1(2) that:
"GE Money may assign, transfer or otherwise dispose of this agreement, and any amounts owed to GE Money under this agreement to any person without the consent of the Customer, but not in such a way as to reduce any of the Customer's rights against GE Money under this agreement or the law. Accordingly, in this agreement references to GE Money or GE Money Consumer Lending Limited and any company mean person(s) who become owners of its business or any of its rights or duties under this agreement."
7. On 15 June 2009 GE Money assigned to Link "all right, title, interest and benefit of the Assignor to or in the Inventory Debts", which included the debt owed under the credit agreement.
8. Notice of assignment was given by Link to the appellant by written notice dated 6 July 2009.
9. The judge found that the assignment was a valid legal assignment under section 136 of the Law of Property Act 1925. He found that the three conditions for the validity of such an assignment were satisfied, namely: that the assignment was absolute and not by way of charge; that it was in writing under the hand of the assignor, and that express notice in writing had been given to the debtor.
10. He concluded at paragraph 20 of the judgment as follows:
"Therefore that means that under section 136 of the Law of Property Act 1925 ostensibily the claimants had in their possession a valid assignment of which they had given notice and upon the terms of section 136 of the 1925 Act they thereby acquired, it being effectual in law, the legal right to the debt and the legal right to take all legal remedies for the same. Under section 136 of the 1925 Act accordingly, absent any other restriction, Link Financial Ltd became entitled to pursue by private proceedings as assignee the debt in question and the section refers to "any debt"."

WITH under three months until the birth of her second child, Keeda Wood, 31, is readying herself for the bailiffs to arrive. A last-ditch attempt to overturn Westminster Council’s eviction order was dismissed by a judge at the Central London County Court on Friday....
Ms Wood has been living at her home in Queen’s Park since 2006, when she moved in as a full-time carer to the property’s secure tenant. Westminster Council said she failed to qualify to take over the property after the tenant died in 2010 and are now forcing her to leave the three-bedroom flat.

At the moment housing benefit pays for us to live, but when that ends we will go without food and heating. I know that already and I dread telling my son. This is his life, but I think he’s already guessed things will be tough. I don’t think he’s guessed how tough though. I am already in £5,000 of rent arrears.”

Here's one who couldn't even sustain his own thread on GOOFY. Started of with what I assume was an advert for his own service with thread title "Parking and Motoring Offences - one stop shop solution" ..
Thread on Goofy apparently now disappeared.
Although he's advertising (I assume) his service as effective against criminal offences as well as private and de-crim tickets, the web site only mentions council and private parking, £25 payment with money back if they don't get your ticket cancelled. And the "success stories" page is empty.billsofexchangeaction » 23 Dec 2016 16:18 wrote: http://www.point-less.co.uk
Interesting website recently launched, the Point-less team handled several motoring 'offences' brought against my person and indeed Notices received by friends and family. We simply don't have the time or inclination to deal with such trivialities, so handing the job over to these not so tame racing drivers was an absolute pleasure. They have a high moral ground, if damage or injury has occurred, they will not assist, or if the 'driver' has been drinking or travelling at speed outside schools etc where damage or injury is likely.
Suffice to say all actions were successful, many speeding offences, one seatbelt fail to wear, no car tax nor insurance, around 30 FPNs (Fixed Penalty Notices) and NIPs (Notices of Intended Prosecution) together with multiple PCN (Parking Charge Notices). Not one was paid, nor points received.
There is no Legal argument, tribunal nor appeal with these guys, it's a straight forward knock out of the issuing 'authority', an absolute pleasure to watch.
If the issuer fails to cease and desist, Point-Less prosecute the offending parties, including any Council staff and their agents.
About time somebody launched such a weapon at these parasitic so-called authorities and educated the Public to what is actually going on. Example of one PCN knock out attached.
Brilliant.

I love the ones where the content of the linked video contradicts the subject, for example there was one not that long ago entitled "How to deposit a promissory note", linking to a recording of the caller basically failing to deposit said PN.

Hi everyone, just a little update.
I am fine but my computer and mobile are under attack due to current circumstances and I know exactly what is happening and why.
Please dont send me any PM's as I receive them and when I open them they are simply garble, and its not just from this site.
Measures are in place to deal with it, and currently this is all I can say publically.

Here's one where the guy's in some sort of dispute over property, and has managed to get himself a Civil Restraint Order, apparently this was because "i believe I was too often successful in court and had to be stopped in this feudal fashion" although later he seems to be saying the government is after him because he made the greatest advance in mathematics since Newton.

Mathematics is very far from being my specialist subject but I'm fairly certain 1 to the power of 2 is 1 and not -1. As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that any positive number raised to any power is positive. You probably may not know but since my discovery in 1999 of my Interpretation of I^2 = -1 (the most important advance in maths since Newton I believe as it rewrite complex maths) and development of Complex Quantum Mechanics more and more physicists are delving into this
