Re: Mark "Ceylon" Haining, Goofy GOODFer
Meads v Meads is quoted with approval in UK judgements, eg the case of Greg Foster, A Man and One of the People.
Ceylon has not merely copy-pasted an old junk rebuttal of Meads, but made it into a video with ghastly synthesized voice that follows the pointed at-words on the screen. Perhaps he thinks this makes the rebuttal easier to understand. It doesn't.

I'm aware that Meads is frequently referred to outside of Canada as a relevant judgment in respect to OPCA litigation (a phrase coined in Meads). My point is that it is only in Canada that it stands as actual legally binding precedence.Hercule Parrot wrote:It is nonetheless well known here, and influential.Burnaby49 wrote:Actually it isn't good law, at least for you UK types, since it is Canadian jurisprudence.

"Yes Burnaby49, I do in fact believe all process servers are peace officers. I've good reason to believe so." Robert Menard in his May 28, 2015 video "Process Servers".

Maybe some UK judge will get with the program and adopt it as part of a judgment and then it can be an official part of UK law, the reasoning is sound, then it can be cited and the freetard population can come unglued.
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.

Yes, indeed.Burnaby49 wrote:My point is that it is only in Canada that it stands as actual legally binding precedence.
And I think (but I'm not sure) that decisions of the Northern Ireland High Court do not set precedents for England and Wales.

I have read at least one UK court transcript where the judge cited Meads not as legal precedent but as a "This is all bollocks and I can't be arsed repeating what sonebody else has already said better than I could" sort of thing.
JULIAN: I recommend we try Per verulium ad camphorum actus injuria linctus est.
SANDY: That's your actual Latin.
HORNE: What does it mean?
JULIAN: I dunno - I got it off a bottle of horse rub, but it sounds good, doesn't it?

They call it "persuasive" where it's not a binding precedent, but the judge (or counsel) takes the view that there would need to be a very good reason not to follow the example. This could be because the decision didn't come from a high enough court, or from a different jurisdiction (for example an English precedent would only be persuasive in Scotland).

OK, thanks, that makes perfect sense.

As for Charlie/Willie Wonka & the chocolate factory a little research will tell you the 1971 film had the latter name & why.
Other highlights, the Ford badge, the number of people in the car when JFK was shot & so on...

The gratingest political mind of our generation is back with an incisive analysis of current affairs.
"I don't know what more I can say to you"
Never a truer word.
The whole planet is controlled by pedofiles. Sounds like a good club to join, then.
He does seem a bit disapponted that the masses show no tendency to rise op and overthrow the Powers That Be.

He is a college tutor, the education authority probably had a word in his ear about bringing the college into disrepute.Pox wrote:Sell on being philosophical!

I really hope you are joking, or his tutoring is limited to bricklaying or woodwork. He is a college tutor, the education authority probably had a word in his ear about bringing the college into disrepute.
Is there any evidence of his being employed at all?

Bringing the college into disrepute? Why? What he said or who he associates with? Seems a bit harsh - if it is true?
