Then que the outrage associated with the law not respecting the dismissal, and their Universal rights under UCC are being violated, on top of all the violations of law. Only to end up claiming to be political prisoners, and claims of institutional racism. We have some fun times to look forward too.AndyPandy wrote:Just when you thought this women couldn't get any stupider she goes a throws a great stunt like this.

It's good to know that we Brits are finally successful in this one area, at least.Burnaby49 wrote: I don't need to note it, I've already acknowledged the demented dedication of your remaining idiots;
I think I know why we are now the current Freeman world-champions.
Whilst you have excellent judiciary in the likes of Associate Chief Justice J.D. Rooke esq we (eventually) defeat these idiots by our unique blend of judicial indifference, at times incompetence, dangerous fee structures and in all cases Olympic-class inertia. A bit of a UK based be-wigged and well-publicised arse kicking of a few of our prominent Footle types and that'd be the end, like a popped balloon. Stomp on TC, send Ceylon down for a spell and educate ExpertinSWF with the realities of life inside Barlinnie Gaol and they'd soon fuck off and do something more constructive. Instead cases get lost in the system, drag on for years and if it doesn't get reported (say on Bailli) then we never hear the outcome - well, not a true version as the other side can say what they like, often unchallenged. There is a lack of transparency in supposedly public courts in the UK - the recent massive win at Bodmin County Court for instance, efforts to get the true outcome reported have been brushed aside.
No, from the looks of things most of our Mad-Hatter gang are in it for the long haul, proving yet again that those who fail to learn from past mistakes are sentenced to eternally repeat them - for which I am in forever their debt although this is one that isn't enforceable .
That all said, maybe, just maybe there is one Freeman they might actually take notice of....
Heaven forbid that I have to go back to amusing cat videos that was my sad world till discovering the joys of this site.

I can't wait to see the Tameside Reporter story:
Miss Rekha Patel, wearing a traditional dress, appeared in Court today fighting the wrongful eviction from her home, Patel Cottage
Miss Patel, who is being harassed by her neighbor for money after she already paid the damages and is also racist, addressed the court:
"Your honor, I cannot be found guilty of trespassing at my own home' she said the raucous cheers of the crowd.
"Is that your plea?" asked the judge.
(28 paragraphs of boilerplate courtroom procedure quoted verbatim)
Rekha then dismissed the case from the courtroom.

Re: Rekha Patel loses her house
Our courts are very open which means freeman losses can be easily documented and publicized. Canada has an excellent, and as far as I know unique, system that makes virtually all released court decisions easily available. I use it all the time;
https://www.canlii.org/en/
What really seemed to torpedo things in Canada was a combination of Meads v Meads and a few jail terms. Meads gave judges an encyclopedia reference to use for their decision and it has been cited an immense number of times. Dean Clifford was perhaps the leading guru in Canada (a statement Menard would contest) and he ended up with two or three years in jail. He's been completely silent since he got out, probably because of parole terms. That, and Menard's run from his own criminal trial, pretty much collapsed things as far as the actual organized movements were concerned. Individuals show up from time to time but nothing of consequnce. You Brits need a few idiots serving significant time to beat into their heads that there are consequences for their antics. At the moment things like Patel's courtroom chaos are risk-free so why not do it?

Not always... If you recall Roger Hayes' case where his mob 'arrested the judge' three were bound over and one jailed. But yes, a lot of these idiots are getting away with sticking two fingers up to the courts and a few more contempt convictions backed by a jail term wouldn't go amiss.Burnaby49 wrote:At the moment things like Patel's courtroom chaos are risk-free so why not do it?

But if anyone deserve to have free housing and food, it must be her. In which case the few pence from each UK citizen to support this, are getting good value for money. With any luck it may serve as a deterrent to future idiots, thus reducing future costs, but alas we all know the follows of the Woo are too stupid to realize it was teh Woo that failed, and it wasn't that they would have gotten away with it if it just wasn't for those blasted kids and their dog corrupt judges.Pox wrote:I really hope so - except for the fact that the government will pay for her holiday which means the UK citizens ultimately pay.NYGman wrote:So she is going for the full Freman package which includes Free Food and Board, all paid for by the government.SteveUK wrote:My money says she's a no show, guilty in her absence, arrest warrant issued.

Britain is eight hours ahead of Vancouver and I get up late so Rheka's day in court will be done by the time I get to my computer with a cup of coffee. I'm looking forward to it!

I expect you will have to wait for next week's Glossup Chronicle for further reporting unless some other more active news agency has a stringer there and thinks it is newsworthy.
I am pretty sure the local boy will be there with pencil ready, and I hope for more details of the ritual this time. That ritual may just shift the balance if dne just right.

Really? I'm appalled and embarrassed by the supine, ineffectual rule of law :SteveUK wrote:Thanks for validation - I'm so chuffed it's true !
.At Stockport magistrates, both were accompanied into the courtroom by four other people, including Ken Thompson, who told the court he was acting as the defendant’s legal representative.
The defendants, their supporters and Mr Thompson all refused to stand for Chair of the Magistrates, Caroline Turner, upon her entrance into court, with Mr Thompson encouraging the group not to do so, stating: “Don’t stand up, it gives them power over us.”
He was questioned about his status as the court became aware he is not a licensed or qualified solicitor. However, he defended the right of his clients to choose their own representative and then spoke over the Chair, continually stating the court had no authority over the case.
The Chair repeatedly asked Mr Thompson to allow her to speak before the court clerk and legal advisor then warned Mr Thompson about his behaviour, and that he was “being rude”, to which he responded: “You have no jurisdiction.” Throughout this exchange, Ms Leezack labelled the legal professionals “incompetent” while performing some kind of ritual.
The courtroom then descended into total pandemonium when the Chair, after speaking with the clerk, attempted to adjourn the case, with the defendants and their party all yelling “case dismissed”. The shouting continued, drowning out any attempts by the Chair to read the bail conditions.
When a representative of the court then left the room, this was celebrated further with shouts of “another one has jumped ship”. The group then insisted on remaining in the public gallery, eventually forcing the courtroom to close, with other scheduled hearings having to be moved to other courtrooms.
The defendants and their party were ultimately escorted from the court by security officers, claiming then that they had dismissed themselves. The group was still in the building an hour later, threatening to call the police and have a woman working in the court arrested for refusing to release the names of the court representatives at the hearing
Thompson should have been directed to sit quietly in the public seating, or leave the court. If he refused, he should have been placed in contempt and sent down to the cells to reflect carefully upon his next words to the court. By failing to maintain justice and order in that first minute, the magistrates invited further contempt.
The legal advisor should have discreetly instigated police and court security attendance during the second minute. And they should have been nearby, because this was a wholly predictable incident.
The lead magistrate who "repeatedly asked Thompson to allow her to speak" should be ashamed of herself. To beg a contemptor for permission to speak is utterly humiliating, and discredits the honourable service of thousands of volunteer JP's.
And finally when the hearing was abandoned, this disruptive and insolent little gang should have been detained for contempt or thrown out of the courthouse. To allow them to hang around causing chaos was unfathomably stupid. The Stockport court's pathetic submission to just 6 gobshites will embolden many more.
Imagine being a victim of assault or burglary, attending to give evidence and watch British justice being done. You would go home thinking that the courts were a joke, that you could have no confidence in law and order. Utterly shameful.

It's hard if not imossible to argue with that. All the court clerks should have a crib sheet of magic words, the moment someone mentions any of them, go into full Judge Dredd mode, further politeness would be wasted.

Re: Rekha Patel loses her house
Canadian judges are on top of this. Every hearing I've been to that involved the slightest hint of sovereign involvment had sheriffs in the courtroom. I can tell you from personal experience they don't piss around if anyone acts up. I saw Michael Millar arrested and cuffed at his own trial because he refused to stop yammering. Another defendant was physically hauled out of the courtroom by two sheriffs when he refused to leave on the judge's orders. If that had happened in a British Columbia court the sheriff on duty would have called for backup (as he did with Millar) and the whole lot would have been arrested.
The judge screwed up by allowing Thompson to continue speaking although McKenzie Friends aren't allowed to speak in court. He should have been ordered to stop and removed from the courtroom if he didn't.

Looks to me like Wrecka is looking for alternative lodging now that she has lost her cottage, and she just may very well get it.
Friday looks to be an entertaining day one way or another. I will hope the court has some burly bailiffs and extra PC's available to deal with the overflow. My personal hope is that Thompson gets some alone time in a nice uncomfy cell til things are sorted out.

Agreed.I'm guessing they simply weren't prepared for what happened, plus the reporting may be slightly biased.
This was a different magistrates court to the one at which Chrissy Morris appeared with the Princess as a supporting act last year; that was Tameside, rather than Stockport. I also don't recall there being that type of theatrics on that occasion.
The Glossop Chronicle is from the same Augean stable as the Tameside Reporter; the accuracy standards of their 'journalists' seem pretty abysmal.
