My father fought in WWII (8th Army, from El Alamein to Northern Italy) and my mother suffered the terror of V-weapons. Just so this total bunch of !*?%%**s (words fail me) have the right to their freedom of expression. There is nothing in that right that allows its abuse in this offensive way.

My father too fought at El Alamein and Monte Casino ending up as part of the post war occupying forces in Italy. Mum went through the Allied bombing of Northern Italy's industry, her family's flat was hit by an RAF bomb that turned out to be a dud, it bounced off the road below and ended up embedded in the walls of the flats opposite without going off. It destroyed the bedroom used by one of her sisters.

I've never claimed benefits, all I have had is some NI credits during my student days and when I was out of work for 3 months when I was made redundant. The only 'benefit' I am going to get is part of the state pension (as a lot is clawed back under contracted out legislation) and winter fuel allowance.
