They're long gone as a result of your continuing ability to post here without getting banned.

The only computer game I ever play is a freebie from PC Magazine. A checkers program that they gave away in 1996 and is moronically simple to beat.

Not quite there yet. Another five years or so. Maybe at the Leisure Center in the Sun City retirement community in Phoenix.

Bridge where my wife, playing as my partner, keeps trumping my winning aces, the turkey sandwiches were made last week and left on the counter, and the only "refreshment" is Bud Light.

I just edited my post to put refreshment in quotes. Happy? Everyone who pays the slightest attention to my beer-fueled ramblings (I'm having a Central City Raspberry Wheat right now) knows my opinion of that abomination who's name need not be repeated. I had one once, not with the expectation of enjoying it, but because I felt I couldn't legitimately crap on it without at least trying it. It was like drinking very lightly malt flavoured water. I saw no need to finish it, I wasn't going to get drunker on the trivial whiff of alcohol they brewed into it.

I was at a party, once, where the beer on ice was a mixture of Bud Light and Coors Light. Thinking that I might have been remembering the "brews" unfairly, I tried one of each -- and couldn't finish either one. Fortunately, another party-goer gave me some of his stash of Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA....

I once spent a night at the saddest casino in the world. It was in Vicksburg Mississippi, a contender for the saddest town in the US. How sad? A small but critical bridge in town had been condemned. It crossed a narrow ravine that effectively split the town in two north and south. The Mississippi river was immediately west down the cliffs and the land declined to the east taking you off the bluffs that paralleled the river. Our casino was on the north side of the bridge, most of the town to the south. So we, and everybody else travelling on what was one of the town's main roads, had to make a long detour well inland then circle back through a residential district and a high school sports ground to get past a fifty foot gap. The bridge looked like it had been condemned for years.

Anyhow, back to our casino, no longer there. It was a hotel on the shore connected to a crumbling riverboat casino by a gangway. I wanted a beer so I went to the casino bar. Casino was a dump and I was the only patron. The casino 'restaurant' was literally a closed-down hot dog stand on the gambling floor. The only beer available at the bar was Bud Light.

I played blackjack in that casino many years ago. Won $250, so it didn't seem so dumpy at the time.

It might have been a different one, ours was at the far north end of town. It was on the Yazoo, not the Mississippi.

My wife once won $160 at the Longstreet Inn and Casino, a dump just inside the Nevada border from southern California. We'd gone there for supper (best they could do was burgers) because there was nothing to eat at Death Valley Junction in California where we were staying at the Amargosa Opera House Hotel.

After our burger I went and had a beer (not a Budweiser or Coors product) and she gambled a bit and won the $160. When she went to cash out they couldn't pay her. The floor guy, the only casino employee, suggested she gamble a bit more. When she refused he had to rummage through the petty cash bag and even opened a couple of the slots for change.

Your vacations have all the earmarks of "adventure". I'm pretty sure I subscribe to Bilbo's opinion of adventures.

On another note, I thought the Amargosa Opera House Hotel was reputed to have a good restauarnt.

It didn't have a restaurant in 2016 when we went. It recently opened up a cafe which seems to be serving pretty good grub;

http://amargosacafe.com/

But a problem as far as dinner and mid-week lunch is concerned. Here are the hours;
Open Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
8 a.m. to 3 p.m
We were planning to go to Death Valley again during our recent trip to Palm Springs and try and get to the cafe during a day when it was open for lunch. I'd even made reservations at the hotel but my wife loaded so many day trips on to our itinerary, and an overnighter in San Diego, that I cancelled. Too much running around and Death Valley was the longest of the planned drives.
