Robert has a facebook page with one thing on it, a link to a pdf of a free copy of a book he's written on OPCA theories.

Impressive if somewhat amateurish. But that's what you'd expect from a non-academic on a personal quest. He describes himself as a true believer who eventually saw the light and moved on to the bright side. The book isn't for the faint-hearted. It's almost 500 pages and being continually updated. It makes Meads v Meads seem like a brochure. The advantages of Meads are of course that it was a PHD thesis disguised as an actual court decision which gives it great legal weight and it is professionally written.

Robert Sudy is a seasoned researcher of pseudo legal theory, having been involved with the movement on social media in Australia for close to a decade. The mythology behind most pseudo legal concepts is extremely peculiar, and understanding the concepts requires journey into the conspiratorial and demon-haunted mystical shadow world of the online community. Robert’s personal journey into "The Freeman Delusion" begins with himself being firmly convinced of the “commercial argument”, passing on the information to others online for several years, and applying the strategies in driving and several other matters. After New South Wales Magistrate David Heilpern patiently took the time to comprehensively reject all the pseudo legal arguments contended in his final judgment, Robert's search for a hint of legal merit in the theories gathered momentum.

Armed with a thorough understanding of the concepts theorised, he took the "devil’s advocate" approach through 4 years of online debates with some of the most prominent leaders in the movement, both in Australia and overseas. He concurrently researched how the individual arguments were rejected previously in the higher courts, and dividing legal fact from pseudo legal fiction, slowly debunked the fundamentals one by one. The conclusions reached in his journey are compiled in this comprehensive analysis of around 50 separate and yet connected pseudo legal theories, citing hundreds of references, from cases in the federal and higher state courts in Australia and overseas, the associated domestic provisions in legislation, and other reputable legal sources around the world.

Incidentally, there was a recent incident here I thought I'd mention, involving an OPCA adherent Keith Knights, who in a conversation with me claimed Clause 61 of the Magna Carta as his justification for releasing a video calling for the ambush and killing of police officers here in New South Wales, which he shared in both of my Facebook groups. I warned him to delete the video immediately as he would be liable for arrest and imprisonment, but to no avail. He was arrested a week later on the 7th December for Solicit to Murder and other charges, and is currently inside pending psychiatric assessment. He may be facing up to 7 years in prison for his refusal to heed my advice. On a more positive note, due to this incident, the name "Freeman Delusion The Organized Pseudolegal Commercial Argument in Australia." has appeared in nearly every news outlet across Australia, and even overseas.

Rob, thanks for the contribution you make. I've only been reading this site for a year, so I don't know for sure, but I think none of the members here are former OPCA types who have recovered from a time spent in what sure looks like a cult, or at least a cult-like system of thinking.

But an ex-believer like you who came to his senses can make a real difference in getting people out of this very destructive belief system, more than those of us who can only make fun of people who entrap themselves in this self-destructive spiral. Your work can save families from financial ruin as well as from turning simple traffic stops into major felonies. And saving the innocent partners and children of people who buy into this delusion is a major contribution to society.

I didn't read all of the book, since I simply don't have time to plow through 400+ pages of stuff unless it's related to work. But I did read the first 30 pages, and it looks pretty solid. If someone is questioning their beliefs in the system and are curious enough to read, I suspect you can blow up their beliefs and you may be able to return them to normalcy.

Incidentally, given that these beliefs are very much cult-like in the way they attach themselves in people's minds, if you choose to evolve the book or if you work with people in person, you might want to make yourself aware of the techniques used by "exit counselors" who get people out of cults. There's a group called the International Cultic Studies Association in the US (http://www.icsahome.com) which is the professional group coordinating the work of the people that help people escape destructive groups like Scientology. They have a lot of material around the standard process that seems to work to help people return to reality.

Last, but certainly not least, is my acquaintance and, for a while, important Freeman guru Chief Rock Sino General who posted as recently as last August;

The Chief was very big in the movement for a while. He served the critical function of being their fake notary. Every court hearing I went to before the Poriskyites has reams of the Chief's documents entered into evidence supporting the defendant (or in Charles Norman Holmes case, the plaintiff). The Chief may not have seen the light but he certainly seems to stop all OPCA activities since he was threatened with jail after being convicted of contempt of court. We had a very active give and take with the Chief in his Quatloos discussion;

There was Swann, who saw the fallacies in Irwin Schiff's methodology, but couldn't quite give up the idea that there was still some way of finagling oneself out of taxes. I don't know if he's out of prison yet.

May I suggest adding Adelaide City Council v Lepse to your list of Aussie OPCA cases? Lepse is particularly notable since it directly references Meads.
