First tax, now Utilities.

Post by Elmware »

I just found out about a call that's been going around, much like the IRS/CRA ones, claiming that you owe them money, but now they are pretending to be from the utility companies, like BC Hydro, claiming that you owe them money, and they are going to disconnect you if you don't send them money from some form of prepaid credit card.

Elmware, nice to have you drop by again! Since I'm a retiree I'm home much more than most of you working stiffs so I get the benefit of these calls much more than you do. My credit card is going to be cancelled for fraud! My electricity is going to be cut off! Been there done that. All variations on a theme the most prevalent being that the CRA is going to have me arrested for tax fraud unless I cough up cash to somebody or another. Really just background noise here in Vancouver.

Hope you eventually got a decent apartment at an affordable rent. Vancouver is very difficult.
