It's the grand unifying principle that Einstein and many others have failed to come up with. I am pretty sure that I won't live to see it, and it's the only thing I regret not seeing.
The only serious thing, anyway.
Indeed. Humans are standing on the verge of, most likely, greatest human achievement of all time, finally understand how gravity warps space/time, and here are some uneducated morons claiming that finding some clause in a banking contract is the biggest achievement since the invention of the question mark.

Yeah, that's my approach to the cosmic stuff. Time not being the constant, observable progression of events is just too abstract for my brain. I was never good at geometry either.
I'm good with numbers, but they have to measure things I can understand.

Your explanation helps though. If i am moving at .9c (90% the speed of light), and you are not moving, the speed of light should appear to be .1c to me and 1c to you. As if a train is leaving Baltimore, I am following in a car at 90% its speed, and you are at the station. But the speed of light is always 1c, so for it to appear that way from my .9c vantage point, time has to move.... faster for me? So you age and I don't? Do I have that right?

More or less I think.

Tomorrow's subject will be quantum dynamics.

Has anybody seen a box with an uncertainly functioning cat in it?

How do you know it’s functional :snicker:

If the cat is either functioning or not, the box is functioning, unless you check.

My favorite Schrodinger joke is the one where Mrs. Schrodinger asks him, "Erwin, what did you do to the cat? It looks half-dead!"

Since we are telling quantum physics jokes.

Dr Heisenberg is pulled over by a police office for speeding.
"Do you know how fast you were going?" the officer asked.
"No" says Dr Heisenberg, "But I know exactly where I am."

As I didn't get the above jokes, I went to a library and asked the librarian if she had a book about Schrodinger's cat and Pavlov's dog ...
She said it rang a bell, but she wasn't sure if it was there or not.

Sigh!!!!!
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.

The cop looks at Heisenberg and says, "Sir, do you realize you were going 75 in a 55?"
Heisenberg replies, "Great, now I'm lost!"

Very good, I’ll be sure to use them on my physics lecturer once Uni starts again.

When we win
Is Tom even pursuing anything that could theoretically result in victory? Or is he referring to his role as the (unpaid, I suspect) central figure of TGBMS?

Now TGBMS has proven to be the greatest story ever told and the surprise box-office hit of the decade died on its arse he's probably struggling to cope with the change from being a celebrity hero to a handful of morons to being just another obsessed old coffin dodger with a sense of grievance that people avoid in the pub.

Reality already won, a long time ago.
