Beware Offshore Bank Account Scam

Post by interents »

"Offshorecorptalk" and the advertiser "Offshorecorpgroup" are crooks.
We applied to open a bank account with this corrupt company (Offshorecorpgroup.com) through their advertising link in the above mentioned forum (Offshorecorptalk.com)
We transfered EUR750 on April 3rd 2019 to them and since then no one responds, not the company nor the forum administrator whose responsability is to verify the legitimacy of the advertiser unless it is a planned scam organized by both parties.
We have all the commmunication records to confirm this incident.....Beware.....

Probably the worst place to locate a company with which to do business is an online forum that permits, nay, encourages advertising - such as, for example, "Offshorecorptalk". The only thing such boards care about is whether you've paid the fee.

Basically, your money is gone gone gone, unless you paid it by card. At this point, you can file a complaint with the FBI cyber scam division and the FTC, but since they seem to be domiciled overseas, Seychelles, Cyprus, Belize, those are NOT auspicious locations for law enforcement, they are pretty much out of US jurisdiction unless they FBI decides they are maybe money laundering or something. You might try Interpol or maybe Europol, but still pretty much same issue.

I am more interested in why interents wanted to open an offshore account in the first place. What advantages did you see in having an offshore account vs. having an account opened with a known, reputable financial institution where you live?

It was an offshore bank (scam) hustler, Jerome Schneider, who is responsible for my being here. I had just begun work with a financial services firm in Boston, and I got a junk fax from Schneider talking about how peachy-keen it is to stash your money where creditors, ex-wives and the like can't find out about it. The illustration shows a man lying on a tropical beach, with a curvaceous young woman in a strapless bikini sipping a cocktail next to him. After a while perusing "Ye Olde Quatloos", I lurked here for a while; and I finally joined up just over 10 years ago.

There can be advantages to offshore accounts. If there weren't they wouldn't have existed for so long. They are not appropriate for, IMHO, 99% of the people who are lured into them on the Internet but there are entirely legitimate purposes.

Yes, but I wanted to know what motivated interents to open an off-shore account. What was he/she told by the person or company that made he/she decide that this was a good sound decision?
