I love how the Notice says it's written in "lower and upper case" and then shifts almost completely to all caps.

Someone refresh my memory....
Say, in the 12th Century, some common peasant shopkeeper put up a sign telling the nobility to feck off, molest me not with your stupid statutes, and your Crown, too!
What would the penalty for that be.... Didn't Wat Tyler try that with Richard II ?
It worked, didn't it?

I don’t even think the common plebeian could own anything back then. Only the clergy and knights could own property or vegetables.Gregg wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:16 pm Someone refresh my memory....

The difference. Wat wanted to be treated equally. These morons who display those signs wanted elevated treatment.

Several problems there. First they would have to be able to write. Second, given the royal court spoke Norman French it would have to be in French or possibly Latin for them to understand it. Third, any peasant who could write was obviously a trouble stirring traitor and could be hung on the spot.

AIUI peasants could accumulate quite substantial property holdings, including oxen and wagons.I don’t even think the common plebeian could own anything back then. Only the clergy and knights could own property or vegetables.
I recommend Terry Jones' (yes, the Monty Python one) 'Medieval Lives' book or TV series for an approachable introduction to the period, which debunks some myths and cliches.

I recommend 1066 and All That, if it's not in there it is not memorable history.John Uskglass wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 11:16 am I recommend Terry Jones' (yes, the Monty Python one) 'Medieval Lives' book or TV series for an approachable introduction to the period, which debunks some myths and cliches.
The Pheasants were met at Smithfield by the King who riding forward alone on a white horse answered who was King and who was Leader of the Rebellion by announcing "I am your King" and "I will be your leader". The real leader was then slain by one of the Barons. A free pardon was then granted to the Pheasants. All were then put to death on the ground that they were Villeins.

Indeed, if only other history texts helpfully informed the reader whether a particular event was a Good Thing or a Bad Thing.I recommend 1066 and All That, if it's not in there it is not memorable history.

It's also relevant to note that the third memorable date mentioned in the foreword is undoubtedly 1215.AnOwlCalledSage wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:03 pm I recommend 1066 and All That, if it's not in there it is not memorable history.
The peasant would probably have a writ of quare ejecit, the birthplace of John Doe of cinematic legend.

It was a while back, like 7th grade, that i read that book, but i still remember noting how many rulers died of "surfuit".

I love this reply... (Paragraph breaks added to allow the batshittery to shine more brightly)
Yes I will call you a conspiracy nut... You conspiracy nut.Call me a conspiacy nut, I don't care...I believe that were in the beginning of the tribulation. It's soft tyranny Now but eventually totalitarianism & the persecution of Christians' ( Look at what's happening now Biblical law is considered hate speach & the Govt. Is preventing us from meeting for worship to glorify God.
We're sacrificing our liberty in the name of Covid.) I'm concerned for my young son & loved ones future... that's why we must share the Gospel to help them repent & be Saved before it's too late.
Either way, now or later... by then (who knows 3-10 years) us Christians (especially the ones who don't receive the mark ie 5G nano micro technology & in a vaccine ) are going to be greatly persecuted, shunned displaced into concentration & yes even executed (beheaded also figurative by complete brainwashing) by a Tyranical Socialist "Great Reset" New World Order with China as the model) disguised for the sake of "World Health" (in order to stop & prevent Covid) By then the Tribulation is going to be in full swing for 7 years & by then Jesus will be back to battle Evil, save the World to become the new Heaven for 1000 years. (The new melenium .)

SCENE - THE EARTHLY PARADISE 3027 AD
Saved Soul 1: Hello again sister, another lovely day!
Saved Soul 2: Yes isn't it. Worth the seven years of tribulation and millions of dead, I'd say. How are you planning to spend it?
Saved Soul 1: I thought I'd do a bit of harp playing, as it goes.
Saved Soul 2: Same here, though just between us, I do sometimes wish we could have some bass and drums.
ENTER THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL WITH FLAMING SWORD
Archangel Michael: All right, times up, let's have you out of here!
Saved Soul 2: I was just joking about the bass and drums - harp on its own is fine, honest.
Archangel Michael: What are you on about? I'm here because your thousand years in Heaven is up.
Saved Soul 1: But, but, I thought Heaven was for y'know, eternity?
Archangel Michael: No mate, a thousand years and that's your lot. Now on your way, don't make me use the sword.
Saved Soul 2: Hang on, nobody told us it was just for a thousand years.
Archangel Michael: It was all there in Tom Crawford's Facebook page, don't blame me if you weren't paying attention. Come on, off you go. Oh, and leave the robes.

Tony Kitching sorry, but confronting the care home my mam is incarcerated today has me pissed, off, visiting means plastic screen, mask, erm no mask, but then screen, then shout at mam through the perspex, while mam, who has demetia questions the morons implementing the torture, then seeing the same room with the "pod" shows how demented these people are. they protect people from living, they are following orders that make them criminals, I will never see mam again
the tart in blue, who was always nice before the madness turned defensive, maybe due to a smashed window from inside out and various things thrown out, they are abusing our elders

to be fair Craig, there are an awful lot of newbies around who, to be quite frank, are filled with anger.
I've followed your dad's story for a very long time.
I wanted to be on that rooftop with the other guys but was recovering in hossy.
I do know and can say this about Tom, he is a decent, honourable guy and I trust if he has info, it will come out when the time is right.
He has to make that judgement and not be bullied by some twat on Facebook trying to pressure him.
Love to you both

Seems to be a very selective Christian tribulation. Our Catholic parish priest hasn't given us a tip off, so hopefully it will just take the evangelicals

Yup, conspiraloon pretty much covers it, or just plain fool, or raging idiot. The next time you run in to one of these, ask them how the whole herd immunity thing worked for Ursinia Pestis.
The fact that you sincerely and wholeheartedly believe that the “Law of Gravity” is unconstitutional and a violation of your sovereign rights, does not absolve you of adherence to it.
