I recently received a voice-mail on my cellphone offering a pre-approved business loan for $150K at 5%. It would be more believable if they left my name or
my business name in the message....
Caller ID gives a number in the 626 area code, callback number in 949, my cell in 562, and my actual landline number is in 714 -- so all within 50 miles or so....
[Edited to add] This scam may belong in the business and financial fraud forum, but I can't figure out what subforum it belongs in. I'm also not sure what the payload would be if I called back.

Re: Pre-approved business loan
Most likely, the scheme is based on securing advance money ("loan fees", "application fees", etc) from the eager borrower and then skipping town.
