Your ignorance of the court system and rules is not the fault of the court's and is no indication of hanky panky by the court. If you want to know what's going on in Reno's court case/dates, just ask.WTF? are they gonna try to move the Trial AGAIN? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! and what is this ordeal with them coming up with these conferences/secret meetings(as well as hearings), schedualling them cancelling them, holding them out of State for?
excuse my french but... What a bunch of pricks!

Re: The upcoming trial for the Final Three
Venue hasn't been moved. The New Hampshire District Court is very small only has a couple of judges who can reside over the case. They've recused themselves (having Ed put out hits on your life tends to make one a little less objective) and so a judge from Maine is being imported for the trial.
The pre-trial hearings are taking place in Maine (the Judge's home courtroom) but the trial itself will take place in New Hampshire (the Judge will commute.)

Re: The upcoming trial for the Final Three
I believe that venue cannot be moved without the defendant's consent, because the 6th Amendment guarantees "a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed."Demosthenes wrote:Venue hasn't been moved.
It's possible for a crime to have contacts with more than one district, so that there is more than one permissible venue, but I suspect that in this case the crimes were all committed in New Hampshire, so in New Hampshire they will be tried.

Hmmm ... did Ed actually put out hits on one or more of the judges, or did he merely make death threats to them?Demosthenes wrote:Venue hasn't been moved. IIRC it was thinly veiled. Something like if anything happened to him, there were lists and people knew what to do. I'm happy that it wasn't followed through with.tracer wrote:Hmmm ... did Ed actually put out hits on one or more of the judges, or did he merely make death threats to them?Demosthenes wrote:Venue hasn't been moved. See, this is what happens when you entrust your anarchist plans for revenge to Mr. Whipple (who was later eaten by the Charmin Bears in 1985). So it's a good thing to keep in mind that if you're a TP, don't use TP to plot your musings.
Edit: Yoinks. I no read ur rite gud.

Re: The upcoming trial for the Final Three
Wait. I'm confused. Has the trial been postponed or not?
Re: The upcoming trial for the Final Three
The New Hampshire District Court Building is a behemoth. I call it the Granite Temple to the Drug Dealer (since most of the few criminal trials that take place in it are drug cases). Considering that their are only two regular judges, a magistrate, and two senior judges, the place is massive. I think they have more courtrooms than judges.Demosthenes wrote:The New Hampshire District Court is very small only has a couple of judges who can reside over the case.
Plus, it is named after Warren Rudmen, a fiscal conservative. What a joke. A giant pork barrel courthouse named after him.
BTW, is the trial actually going to be delayed again?
