The judge had granted Snipes' motion to travel abroad based on the following caveat:
Within ten (10) days from the date of this Order, the Pretrial Services Officer is requested to furnish to the Court (by filing a copy in this action) of any and all reporting instructions to which the Defendant is presently subject, and to make a report concerning the Defendant’s record of compliance with those instructions. This Order will be subject to reconsideration after receipt of the report from the Pretrial Services Officer.

Inconsistent paperwork? Is that the worst they've got on him?

I don't have any experience with this sort of thing, but I don't see the judge reconsidering the bail and foreign travel issues just because Snipes missed filing some written reports in the past.

The "monthly reports" which Pretrial says Snipes missed or submitted incompletely are probably financial reports showing monthly income and expenses. In any case involving fines or restitution - such as Snipes' - these monthly reports are quite important to ensure (1) compliance with fine/restitution requirements and (2) law-abiding current behavior. I've never appeared before Hodges, but there are judges who (especially in a financial case) would indeed take this seriously. Perhaps not seriously enough to deny business travel, but seriously.

Not to mention ensuring that he's not quietly tranferring funds to the Bank of Zimbwabe.

His funds are already in Switzerland and the Isle of Man.

Apparently, the judge didn't care about the non-compliance issue so Snipes is allowed to travel.

Officers: Snipes isn't meeting bond conditions

Associated Press - July 28, 2008 3:54 PM ET

OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Actor Wesley Snipes has been admonished for allegedly failing to provide complete information to authorities while free from prison.

A judge last week ordered the action star to comply with bond conditions requiring Snipes to send in monthly reports. Six times Snipes has allegedly failed to submit anything, including 4 of the seven months since his February tax conviction. Pretrial service officers say Snipes offered incomplete information when he has sent it.

The actor has been sentenced to three years in jail. He is appealing the sentence and conviction, and is allowed to travel abroad while it works through the justice system.
